100mm or 140mm for gnarly XC riding?

I'm looking at RockShox Revelation 426 (140mm) or RockShox Reba Team (100mm). Whcih would be best on a hardtail for rough XC?

I suppose it would be aimed a little more toward All-Mountain than XC. I have an old school Kona Stuff, its less jump specific than the new models.

i wouldn't go higher than 130mm travel as it will f*ck the geometry

I own a DMR Trailstar,used to run a 4 inch DJ fork on it but now have a 5 inch Z1.It is better for the kind of riding you intend to do,that extra inch makes for a bit more control at speed.Different forks are taller or shorter for a given amount of travel though so keep an eye on that.
