I just insured my 2009 Giant Reign X2 with my insurance company. It only cost me $50 for the year, however there is a $1000 deductible.

did mine through my tennant insurance they will only cover 70% of proven value.
so this means that i got a deal on my bike and only paid 1500 they will only cover it for a total of 1050$ + there is a 500 deductable. it cost me an additional 25.00 per year. so i guess its kinda useless.. 1050-500-25= 525 payout.

plus if i leave it insured for lets say 3 years. thats an additional 75 taken off. so i am down to 450.

well i guess i could put that towards a new fork!!

Mine is covering my bike which was $2500, then I will lose $1000 off the price due to deductible. $1500 is better then nothing if something ever happened to my bike.

I don't know much of the details but my bike is insured for $6000 and I only pay $12 a month, so $144 a year. Im pretty sure that it is insured through the house or something. Parents set it up and I pay.

my mom said once she gets a job (she was a housewife, went back to school, yada yada yada, got remarried), that she'll talk to her insurance people and set up something for my bike, and she'll pay. though im covered under house insurance, my mom figures she'll ensure that my baby is safe since my step-dad isnt the best with this stuff (and gives shit all about my bike). o shit...just remembered, the shop has had my receipt for like a month due to warranty stuff...that might not be good...

I had mine insured for $5000 through BCAA as a scheduled item on our condo insurance. It cost about 150$ a year to insure. My bike got stolen in April and they replaced it with a bike worth more than the original and all I had to pay was a $200 deductible. Still sucks to know that some cruddy kids fingers are all over my straightline levers but without insurance it would have REALLY sucked!

this is the best ive heard of... mine is through allstate. the max they will insure a bike for is 5000, but you gotta have a reciept for that and not replacement value.

i live in a pretty high traffic apartment building. there is a real fear of breakins especially since i am on the ground floor too...

however i agree ^ at this cost not really worth the money involved.
