Those Kahunas are rad, just built one up for a customer the other day. The stays deserve more attention than they get. Super burly for an XC bike.

New to me Precept 200. In the process of getting rims (WTB i25s), and maybe a slightly longer, higher stem.

That looks so sick!!! I remember Connor fearon riding this at crankworx Rotorua 2015. If be interested to see how it stacks up against the operator.

What is the 167 like? Is it enduro-ish? I'd imaging it's quite hard on the uphill....

As a mini-dh, park or freeride bike it's super tight. I can't really comment on it's enduro-ishness since mine is set up for freeride. Rigid post, not super low gearing and a really plush & linear suspension tune make it hard for me to judge if the poor climbing performance is a function of setup or inherent to the design, but it's not really designed for that anyway.,

Thanks!

For a DH bike, it's pretty fun, versatile ride. I think the short stays and 26" wheels help keep it playful. Not as stable as some other DH bikes, but can really be thrown into a corner. Climbs fine. The straight seat tube help there. I have this bike at 35 lbs now, and am using it as my burly trail bike.

Why did you get a new set of chain stays? Did they break or just too scratched?
