Just like any DSLR, a pain compared to a video camera, but you'll get pretty nice images out of it for the price. Plus you have a decent photo camera.

D5100 I would imagine since it's more expensive. Canon is a bit better if all you care about is video.

Go with the 3200...Nikon's newer camera lines have more video options in them now. Nikon's will also take a cleaner image at a higher iso compared to Canons. Means you can shoot in low light a bit better (not much though, but still better.)

Evening all similar question to fraz123.

I currently have a Fujifilm hs20 which is great but planning on moving onto bigger things as I've been offered a few video / photo jobs so require a bit more flexibility with my camera and an external mic / timelapse as well as a better quality image.

So looking at getting a new camera in the new year.

Nikons d3100, d3200, d5100 and EOS600d

I can get them all for a similar price, I like the look of the d5100 as it features a flip out screen and seems to have it all. Looking at the specs though the 3200 has a larger max resolution and more megapixels. But the 5100 has a larger sensor.

Basically I want the most professional video image I can get from an SLR while having the advantage of been able to take stills.

Any help is great

Thanks

Chris

I decided on the canon 60d as I found it for 559 on digitalrev and also looked at those others canon are supose to be better for film.

I went for the d3200 and the video function is brilliant. See https://www.pinkbike.com/video/294679/ for quality.
