you can lower a 36 float
thats what all of the pro slope riders for fox do, you just put spacers in it, just like you wold lower a 32 float

wow lol there are instructions on how to lower a 36 float on fox's website lol its not that hard, I have one lowered to 80 and its the best fork I have ever used tup

I love my 32 vanilla lowered down to 110. It's held up fine for a while now.

Yeah I cut the coil and added a spacer.

If you mean changing the adjustments from lets say 110-160 to 0-100 then your correct and you cant change that, but you can basically lower every fork, although you might have to replace parts such as coils if your were lowering a vanilla.
