built up my 24'' out of a bike i found in a skip. 1'' steerer, fully rigid

took the axle out of the rear wheel and used it to rebuild a cheapo 24'' wheel i had around

put some a=bars on it off my scooter, with a 2'' rise

bolted on an hs33 rear brake and she rocks!

may not be totally budget but my pinnacle trojan started life at evans cycles for £600 then they brought it down to £550 then i found a %10 discount voucher in cycling weekly magazine, so that brought it down to £494 then it came with some scratches and i'm one of those guys who HAS to complain so i did and they knocked another £40 off it so all in all my pinnacle cost me £454, then i threw on a set of tyres and a saddle i had lying around so uprgrades were free so all in all £454 for this

Let's see... my Riot cost me $600 complete. It's mostly new.

-- Riot frame
-- 2007 DJ1
-- Answer Protaper gold bars
-- Red Blk Mrkt stem
-- Eastern cranks
-- S-Types laced to profile hubs
-- Small Block 8 tire, also a WTB can't remember.
-- Velo Plush seat. Not trendy but I likes it.
-- Shimano Deore brakes. Yes, I run two most of the time.

2006 Dobermann Molosse
2007 Marzo dj2
Mavic 325 on formula rear
ditchwitch on stock front
maxxis hookworm rear
hutchinson barracuda front
gravity moto-x cranks w/ bash
hussefelt stem
ea50 bars

I scored a 2007 kona stuff for $150, the Dob frame for $300, then sold some parts for new ones, got a couple other things... blah blah blah spent $500 to have an almost 37lb dj bike. lol

It's getting a rebuild sometime this season though... sub 30lb at least.

paid just over 400 usd for this. A great deal until i consider the guy with the $500 dob. still, i love the bike.

the pics dont do the colors justice. sure, the brown frame isnt hot, but the orange parts arent that dull. the front wheel in the second pic is much closer to what it really looks like. got all the parts powdercoated for 65 bucks. bringing the total to just under 500. love the bike.

yeahh but i like a little weight on a dirt jump rig makes everything that more smooth and flowy and my bikes a bit of a monster but ive got it pretty light with a heavy frame and a 48 spoke rear it rides nice shame i cant ride it for another 2 weeks Frown

haha, competetive DH bikes weight almost the same as my Dob... Wink
I agree with weight not being bad, but it needs to be a BIT lighter for my liking... and need to be balanced much more. It's totally ass heavy right now with the 325/hookworm combo.
