hi,

I look to buy a bike, I bought a bike a double suspention because I really do light freeride and a lot of XC. I noticed the "opus stakh 2 2008" and it had looked like a good value for money. but is that a good brand?

Thx

Opus makes nice bikes. They have really nice xc race bikes.

the stakh 2 is a good buy for the money. Only thing to change would be the tires. I had those tires on my Vertex 70 and ended up changing them out in a week because they were limiting the bikes preformance. Overall, it is a good bike. Nice fork too.

I just discovered that opus offers a warranty of 5 years on the framework, is to take a risk?

that's a good thing. In Ontario, a lot of people at xc races ride opus bikes. They are a good company.

last year i went to hardwood hills when the Canadian Cup thing was there. i ended up doing a lap on a Stakh I. the bikes are fast as hell. super agile and the suspension was extremely good with pedaling. probably one of the best bikes i've ridden. only complaint i found with it is that they can get sketchy descending, but pretty much every XC race oriented bike will suffer from that.

the sketchy descending is from the steeper head angle to make the bike more nimble and quick. You will get use to it quickly, nothing to worry about

yeah i know. which is why i mentioned every XC race bike will suffer from it. more for the first poster's question about the bike so he knows its not going to be a downhill bike. my bike is like that as well.

O+
