Disc brakes don't really belong on a BMX...

And it would make sense (sorta) on my bike.

I know that most people don't think that discs belong on BMX bikes but I just got a new one with a gyro and the brakes are weak. I'm sure that I could tune them up and get them working allot better but I thought it might be nice to put a disk back there. If not I will just ditch the gyro and put a set of V brakes on it. Can anyone tell how the disk is mounted to the wheel?

oops, it says it comes with a hub, never mind. I went to their site and they sell the hangers separate. That would be sick with one of those profile hubs and a good set of brakes.

that would be cool on a mtb because its so small. if it brakes good enough for street and park and if its lightweight.

So instead of taking 10 minutes and tuning your brakes, you'd rather buy a whole new set (disc conversion)?

& impractical, you wouldn't be able to grind on that side, or if you crashed hard it would take a beating & you would end up bending the disk, & you could probably get more stopping power with a standard well tuned rim break set up than a '140mm cable disk break anyway Blank Stare

These are a Shimano disc brake on a Profile Disc Brake BMX hub.

Disc brakes have had limited use in BMX racing so parts do exist for them, however they've never caught on in freestyle as they're not practical for the type of abuse a freestyle bike takes.
