But why do you need a spring for a 3.25'' stroke, fox has a max 3'' stroke.

The 3.25" length is a Fox length. They use some funky way of measuring. Aftermarket companies use stroke length. Check this out.

This link does not correspond to fox compatible springs. Ti springs are "race only" springs, & very expensive. A YR's efficiency DHX air5.0 @ 379$ is even lighter. It is something to be considered if you are ready to invest in a ti spring.

my plan was to get a revox in the same stroke/i2i as my dhx, and since it comes with a ti spring, just use that instead and have a backup shock.

I just do not trust the reliability of an air shock. I think you can blow up an air shock more easily than a coil one. An air shock is stiffer than a coil shock, it means that it is less active on small bumps. Even more, the Ti spring is suppose to be more nervous than the steel spring on those small bumps... Cash does not matter here because I work in a shop and my bike is paid by this one. All I want is something very nervous, reliable, and light!

You may have issues with air fox rear shox but they really are ver nice the adjustability of the 5point0 is awesome. Many fox rear shox are assembled without enough lube in the air can this leads to the box seal drying out and twisting in its seat due to friction. The shox are easy to pull apart and the first thing you should do is open er up and add about 5cc of 2O wt fork oil or float lube. If you can find a ti spring it will fatigue faster than steel and cost more than a dhx5.0 air. You will also lose more weight. I work in a shop as well and tried to find a ti spring to go with my dhx no dice. The air worked out great the ability to set your sag height perfect is really nice and the small bump sensitivity is good.
