Nice ride ! My Dad drove log truck, always wanted to but ended up in construction instead .

Don't know how it is in your/your Dads area....but it's a tough gig up here....long hard days&nights. They get some downtime, but still...

I've always had a touch of the wanderlust that makes being a truck driver sound appealing. Pay's not great and I'm sure it gets old being on the road all the time after a few years but I've always thought it would be kind of cool.
I know a few owner operators who do well over 250k/year there's money to be made.
Really depends on what and where you haul. Truckers like to brag about how much they make but they don't tell how much it costs to run the rig.
Log haulers do well but it's stupid dangerous.
Same as any industry, there's money for sure.

Retired colleague drives a casino tour bus through Banff jasper kananaskis area for shits and giggles these days. Our backyard is really so unbelievably beautiful I would mos def consider driving a bunch of excited tourists through our playground a few times a week.
If I thought that these big rig drivers were making double + what I'm making though, I would jump ship fast AF and get my licence.

If you look at Seth’s page he’s got almost 2000 patrons paying $3600 a month. That’s a mortgage and then some. However, apparently it’s going towards building a bike park. I’d say he would most likely be in the minority when it comes to mtn bike content though.

Remy is legit. That dude can flat out ride. I started to watch Nate Hills just to check out the trails in Moab before we went there and I kept watching. Last summer he filmed some trails up in Northern BC. He’s another shredder.

I like Remy Metalier, and get frustrated with him all at once. He casually chats while riding, which is helpful and descriptive, but it's often on some really crazy double black janky shit. Yoann Barelli too. I think about how calm everything must be in their heads.

What sorcery is this?!?

... cone to think of it, same with Fabien Barel, or any of what I'm calling the mental control masters.

Yeah man, I tired it once in a GoPro. Failed, I either swore continually or was silent as I was maxed out trying to stay on the bike!

Patreon is the modern day equivalent of a coffee cup on the sidewalk. The only difference is Patrons are groupies that think if they send $25 per month to Remy, then Remy will in turn like one of their Facebook posts and then all their friends will be like “damn! Jimmy is tight with Remy!”.

Gross!

Nate, Remy, Yoann all have great beta when hitting a new area... That said my wallet is staying locked in the vault until there’s something rad to spend it on like grape soda at the supermarket.

Yeah almost every youtube "star" now has a Patreon account linked for "exclusive" content.

One of my Co-workers husband drives truck for a living and usually makes around 100k a year driving someone elses truck. Wouldn't mind doing it but keep me away from the cities I have memories of driving a tree trimming truck through downtown Victoria and side streets and it wasn't all that fun.

f*cksticks. Boss called me and casually mentioned he wants me to help to build a team in Waterloo - Toronto area. I f*cking hate the area. Can't we hire a team in Vancouver? Could be weekly flights for months.. Grrr.

Software. What else.

I don’t actually hate Waterloo. But it’s far.
