I am getting either the Mongoose Blackcomb or Mongoose Status. Which One?

Mongoose Blackcomb:

Status looks better, blackcomb looks like 2001 Devinci

Maybe a hardtail bike is better to start with, you'll get a better (lighter, more durable - meaning more fun!) bike for the same money.

ive looked at hardtails but i cant find a cheap one with disk brakes.

700 isnt going all out in the biking world... If I were you I would look into good deals at local shops trying to get a hardtail from 08-09, and save up a little too. I would look into the specialized hardrock or p. all mountain for a first bike, unless you can get a good deal on something else from a local shop.

kid, $700 is about half what you need to spend to get a halfway decent bike.

buy a 2nd hand hardtail for now.
