I had the idea of making the videos I've been making (as well as all the ones that will be coming out in the future) available for download in full HD 1080p (as they were filmed). The logic behind this is that the viewer experience is greatly increased, and the viewer now gets to see the video as I intended it to be seen.
So I was just wondering how many of you would download MTB videos (webisode-style) in their almost raw, uncompressed 1080p format with uncompressed audio (just don't look at my past videos to make you decide, I just mean good MTB videos in general)? Each file would be approximately 300MB-700MB.
So the question is would you do it, or do you think it's a waste of time and space?
Similarly, who would be interested in iPhone versions of the videos? These would be approximately 50-150MB in size and would be ready to grab and drop to the iPhone.
I forgot to say that the full versions of the videos (maybe previews are a good idea though? would stil be uploaded to PinkBike, YouTube, etc., just a much higher quality would be available for you to keep.
Right, so the 1080p versions will take a while to sort out because I need to find a way to host them. Meanwhile, I have uploaded the iPhone / iPod versions of the videos, which are now available via the following link:
The videos are formatted specially to play on iPhones and iPods without any conversion. Just import them into iTunes and sync your iPod. All the files are less than 100MB in size.
I would realy appreciate if some of you could download at least one of them, just to check to see if everything is working perfectly with no problems. I would really appreciate it!
But Yes.. In general I would download it. Specialy if they were like "2009 Demo Reel". Great trails, great filming, great riding and awesome video quality.
