Was told by local bike shop that it was a manufacturing defect.
I had it welded by a fabrication shop that does aluminum welding and the said that it was a manufacturing defect as well due to the fact that it broke just below the weld for the rear suspension pivot bracket.
He said that the bracket should only have been welded on the vertical sections and not the horizontal sections.
in other words not all the way around the bracket.
