yes, protect your shins.

I learned it first just standing still, then whilst coasting on flat ground, then on stepups, etc.

funny thing is i got it first by kicking the rear foot/pedal only, then realised it's much easier if you give the rear foot a gentle nudge, until you can just whip it backwards with you front foot. grippy pedals also help a ton.

don't forget to move your feet out of the way and put them back on in time.

have fun!

First things first, throw with the same hand as your front foot.

I.E I'm left foot forward so I had to learn to throw with my left hand.

I'd prefer to throw with my right and I can do them but because of the way your feet are it will cause the bike to dip akwardly and make it a lot harder to learn.

Practice standing behind the bike and throwing and catching with the front wheel off the ground. Then do the same with your front foot on the pedal but you other foot on the ground (Standing). Do this religiously so that throwing and catching is simply muscle memory so that you don't have to think about it when doing the actual trick.

If you really want I can make a video for you.

I could already do bar spins now, the only problem I have right now is to stop letting my front wheel hitting my foot and kill me.

Tips for keeping your bike under you and not crashing when getting hit by a strong random crosswind gust while in the air?
