It depends how much u do of each if u do more street id go argyles bt if u do more dh/fr id go pikes. With pikes u can wind down with the u turn and lock out so u have a better chance with pikes.
Pike 454 Air U Turn was 2155g Argyle 318 (coil I think) was 2533g
Also something you might not have considered, the axle to crown measurements, for Argyle @ 100 it's 491 for Pike @ 100 it's 478
It is hearsay but I've read of Argyles getting bent (steerer tubes namely), I don't know how common it is.
The Argyle came with my STP but I got a Pike pretty much straight away because I wanted to use the bike for some DH, anyway I sold the Pike to fund a dually and now the STP has a Tora on it. One thing that Argyle has going for it is chrome stanchions, they are much more durable I found compared to anodized stanchions of the Pike....my Pike got a scratch really quickly, whereas I've had a Tora for much longer and it's still fine, the Domain I have hit a rock while I was doing Downhill and they came off fine (amazingly!). With the Pike I clipped a gutter with my pedal and fell off the bike, it got a scratch just like that (on the stanchion), I was not impressed!
So hard choice, I'd go for a Pike but I don't fancy the anodized stanchions, so I reckon I would look for something similar to a Pike but with chrome stanchions from the Rock Shox range. I'm not dirt jumper though and I'm happy with my Tora 318 which would be a bit nicer if it was coil I reckon.
