Anyone ever swapped to 27.5 wheels? I found one post with a picture on vital MTB and then a link to a YouTube video. No other info.

I already have a 27.5 fork on it. I swapped to a pike because my fox 34 was just to flexy for my big ass LOL. So with the pike set at 140mm and offset bushings, it’s half a degree slacker than stock. The 27.5 in front would go about another .5–.75 degree.

I just checked with an angle finder and head angle is 65.5-66 right now

If you needed could you use a Cane Creek adjustable headset to get your HTA exactly where you want it ?

There was another BR featured there recently too with 27.5 wheels. Ive been looking myself but its pretty darn near impossible to find a set with the right rear hub specs. Keep us posted if you do. Im on the hunt still for wheels.

I've been running the mini mullet for a while and is pretty good, you can definitely tell the difference on the steep stuff and the fast stuff. It's still playful but a little slacker. Sorry about the shit photo and beefy stanchion scratch.

I will. I think the rear may be a little tight I’m gonna test fit some wheels this weekend. I might be better served running a 26 x 2.5 in the rear and then running at 27.5 by whatever in the front. I have a 27.5 Forks so the front is easy. I also already have offset bushings. so it is a little bit slacker but with a 27.5 in front it will be in downhill territory LOL.
If you o(or anyone) could take some measurements of your tires… Mounted width, mounted height from the ground, and what size... just so I could do some comparisons. That would be awesome. I know transition states it will fit at 26 x 2.5 in the rear, I want to push it if possible.

Can anyone recommend a shock for the Bottlerocket that has a lockout? And how do I identify year of the bike?

not sure about the lockout but years I can help with. Below is the first year in green. The arrow points out the rear seatstay bolt that is just like something you can get in a hardware store. So far as I can tell there are no other changes except the new pivots all around (see red picture) until 2009 when they cut out the front mount for the shock to reduce weight (see third picture, red bike)

old type of Transition Bottlerocket rear triangle pivot bolt.
