I -love- that it says "do work" on the side.

It just screams a couple beers after working on the truck one night, and laughing off about how much work has been done and needs to still be done.

We tend to write it on projects as well. nice.

Looks solid and is coming along nicely.

That's part of the motivation behind it. The other part is that there is only so many resources (tools and electrical plugs) inside the garage so usually one person ends up working and the other person stands and waits for a certain tool or extension cord which results in the working person yelling at the other to do work. It doesn't help that my neice can now recognize pictures so I have to keep my artistic expression to a G rating.

Thanks.

The next milestone I'm shooting for is getting the glass back in it. That will mean all the welding and grinding is done on the cab which I can't wait for.

how come you had to do all that sheet work and welding at the rear windows? just too much rust?

The grille shell was chopped down to get rid of the stock turn signals. They were too short and the new headlights were too large. In their place we tried putting in a set of 4Runner turn signals but the angle wasn't right on them and it looked stupid.

Instead of screwing around trying to find a set that have the proper height with the proper profile, the spot where the turn signals were is just going to be filled in leaving us with no front turn signals. So for the sake of being legal the 4Runners are going back in.

Here's a good picture to explain. My brother wanted to do something different and get rid of as much of the factory chrome around the windows as possible. At the back of the rear windows is a stupid thick factory chrome piece and once removed it leaves that gap around the window that needed to be filled.

One piece back window installed and taped off before we get the chance to ruin it with more sparks. Cab has been stripped down to bare steel. Found the original colour, it started life as a blue/green colour.

One door that's properly aligned and latches shut. Still have to turn the truck around to get to the other side. Life with a 6' whip can be a real pain.

Not pictured is the newly painted floor. The sound deadening/heatshield is currently on order.

Finally got the proper drill bit for the hubs and picked up a piece of 2'X4' sheet metal today so that I can redo some of the filler panels. Hopefully one of the 2 jobs will be completed tomorrow.

i was just about to see when the next update is. but i bet i feels good to see some of the body work coming together.

It feels good alright. Once some of the glass went in I knew that the grinding and cutting was pretty well over and done with which feels the best. Next big "hooray" moment is going to be the front brakes. Ever since I saw them I've been wanting to see them on. With the caliper and rotor it should fill the inside of the wheel and look mean. However I think the calipers are going to need to be sanding down a little and painted, the factory cast finish and colour just looks like junk.
