whats better

and does single pivot tend to have more pedal bob than the dual

single pivot without a shock with a good pedal platform will bob like crazy, also without a floating brake you'll be getting brake jack galore. So yes, a suspension system with more than one pivot is superior.

i found that on my old single pivot Scott, cornering was a nightmare and i spent most of the time picking up the pieces off the floor.

but when i got my kona - it was much more stable and balanced in corners.

konas are actually rocker activated single pivots

yes it is better but its still essentialy single pivot

with a lot less brake jack !

with the same brake jack... the difference is, if that is your stab, you probably have a floating brake on it.

I got a quick question, is the 08 Santa cruz bullit considered single pivot? And if i do get one a floating brake is in the plans...:P

yes an 08 bullit is single pivot

well i'd imagine that with a single, their would be more stress on it, but with a double it would be spread out, but it would just be one more thing that could break.

Not at all. In no way shape or form are Konas suspension systems single pivots. EVER.

Please tell me your being sarcastic....Kona's are a single pivot bike, they've been that way since the 90's when they were first designed.

My commencal supreme DH has quite the brake jack effect but im gonna make myself a floating brake for it, i found that (even tho it is essentialy a single pivot) it just shoots you out of a curve. And pedal "kick back" well.... if your standing on the bike the bike is then kinda pushing itself foward from suspension use Razz

i used to have FSR link and discovered that i very much preffered the verymuch tighter feel of the single pivot

Santa Cruz bullet / Orange = Single pivot ( sucks, unless you have a good shock)
Norco/ Kona / Specialized = four bar linkage ( slighttly better, but still so 1999)
Giant / Intense / Santa Cruz v10 / Iron Horse Sunday = Virtual in some shape or form. Which is the best.
