As some of you may know, I plan on replacing my current Nomad 2 with a spankin' new Nomad Carbon in June. I have already ordered my frame, a medium in matte carbon with gold pinstriping and a Monarch shock.

My projected weight estimate puts the complete bike around 27 lbs with folding tires.

The parts will be as follows:

Fork: 2011 Fox 36 Talas FIT RC2, 1.5" steer tube
Brakes: Formula The One 8" front 7" rear
Headset: Chris King NoThreadset 1.5", gold
Handlebar: Sunline V1 Carbon
Shifters: SRAM X.0 triggers, gold
F. Derailleur: Shimano XT M770 top swing
R. Derailleur: SRAM X.0 medium cage, gold
Cassette: Shimano XTR 11-34
Chain: KMC X9SL, gold
Chain Guide: E.13 DRS+ w/22+36t rings
Pedals: Twenty6 PreRunner ti, gold
Cranks: Fifteen.G
Seatpost: Specialized Command Post
Saddle: WTB Silverado SLT, black
Rims: DT Swiss EXC400 carbon 32h
Spokes: DT Swiss Supercomp 2.0/1.7/1.8, black
Nipples: DT Swiss alloy, gold
Hubs: Chris King 110x20 and 135x10 ISO, gold
Tires: Continental Mountain King Supersonic Black Chili 26x2.4 and 26x2.2

If I can manage to sell my current Nomad 2 for about $3500-4000, then I can almost afford to purchase all of these parts at once, making liberal use of various companies' employee purchase programs. Otherwise I will have to sell the Nomad 2 as a frame only and buy the parts over time.

We'll see how this unfolds...

Two of my riding buddies use them and they have been good so far. One is on a Nomad 2 and one is on a Cowan DS.

crank bros wheelset would shed some weight off, and just as strong as the DT/CK you want... and a DT fork would bring the fork weight down another 300-500grams

Ultimate build ehhhh, thats quite a prestigious title to hold. This is going to be BIG. I'm curious to see how much you will stick to the original build plan.

I'm not trying to make the lightest build, I'm trying to do the sickest.

I would never run Crank Bros. wheels, I find them to be hideous (no offense pipes10).

You invite me to this thread and this is what I have to see? Lol.

Build looks great. Do you think you'd be able to swing Twenty6 Ti Prerunners with a black body, gold pins, gold axle/nut? It may look better?

Well since the cranks and chainguide will be black, I would think that a gold body with black pins would look better. I don't know, I might mock it up in CS4 and see...
