How do i adjust the pad contact on my Purple Hayes brake?

Holy old brakes! Nice.

Old Hayes Purples (and blacks and champagne) are "self adjusting" as far as I know and there's nothing you can actively do to adjust the pad contact. You have to push the pistons out manually when changing pads. I just put a sizey screwdriver in between the old pads and twist to push the pistons out. Lever position is adjustable via the little allen screw, but thats it.
