I think a video of the riders just standing there awkwardly for a few seconds with their bikes would have been the better choice here, pinkbike.

they show a video, we want pics. they show pics, we want a video. love this site

@cuban-b: I think that was the implied joke...

@seismicninja: i am aware, but thank you Smile

Man, Kyle Strait still crushes it after like 20 years in the game. Saw him slamming Natty Lights and tacos between runs at Rampage and he instantly became my favorite rider. Probably because I can relate to slamming crappy beer, but can't relate to hucking my body off cliffs.

 an absolute unit
  • 2 1
Commencal please raw-up the absolute like lyle has done here
  • 2 0
Ha, can confirm this story. Worked/volunteered this year, I got stationed close to the outlet of his practice runs where family/friends had set up shop. Always down for a good time.

what's up with the cable runs / ball of yarn at the headset? it looks like he's managing the lines of a racing yacht.

@plyawn: excess for bar spins, whips etc.

Casey Browns riding Oliver Trees bike.
  • 5 0

Max Fredriksson just did a whole video building that bike up with a new Marzocchi fork and Shimano bits and now it has his old RockShox and Sram stuff on it.
  • 1 1
yeah ikr! thats wack! he probably got dropped already lol...poor guy Frown
  • 2 0
@CalvR: How could they drop him? I am pretty sure the have something called contract which you can´t just drop.

I guess he had some problems with the fork and the Shimano chain ring probably didn´t arrive before leaving, as he said in the bike build video that it isn´t the right size

What happened to the Marzocchi fork and Shimano cranks that Max put on his insta and youtube looks like he's running rockshox in that picture
  • 3 0
 Yeha man, i`m also confused.

 Googled Hyper Bikes.... Not disappointed
  • 5 4
You should be extremely disappointed. Most of the bikes Hyper makes are trash "bike shaped objects" sold at stores like Walmart and spec'd with no name plastic components. They would literally shake apart on legit singletrack. It's kind of like how Mongoose makes a couple decent DJ and DH frames and everything else they produce is garbage.

their sponsorship was worth every penny
  • 1 0
I just... do they sell enough bikes to warrant sponsoring people? Ditto for Haro. Good on them I guess, but I don't get it.
  • 2 0
Haro sells a lot of entry level bike shop stuff @shredddr:
  • 1 0
@freeridejerk888: got it - I never see their stuff in my local shops. I gather them and Hyper have a much bigger Socal presense, which is a pretty big market by itself.
  • 1 0
@Landonop: cough* teocali cough* canaan cough* but yea they are a different breed, the only thing in common with walgooses is the name since they are cascaded from pacific cycle

Lemoine on a Stiched 360? Didnt realise the 360 came with a rear shock........
  • 3 0
That commencal meta got the cleanest cable tidy with two brakes a rear mech and a dropper.
  • 4 0
Sam Reynolds bike looks insanely small.
  • 2 0
Maybe "picture illusion" but look how thin the space between rear tire & frame is !
  • 1 0
 @krisstoff: Indeed, man ! Crazy !
  • 1 1
What, your kidding, all bikes don't have Minions...Actually, it's good to see so many different tires used on the bikes at Crankworx. However, I did not think they would be using Ikon's, and even Kaos Seagrave's Canyon Stitched bike has a "Racing Ralph" on the rear? The Racing Ralph would be very light & good for speed but wonder about durability hitting the big jumps? Could be using a tire insert on rear maybe...

I thought there typically used to be more riders on Rose slopestyle bikes too for these events.

  • 1 0
@cwatt: They've always just been alloy, ha.
  • 1 0
 is that meta a 29??
  • 1 0
 Yes.
  • 1 3
Seagrave rocking a belt drive?!! Would be interested to hear more about that!
  • 2 0
I think it is a half link Chain like on a BMX
  • 1 0
 Think it's just a black half-link chain
  • 1 0
Thought the same thing but agree with other commenters that it is likely a half link chain. The "top" is smooth so from a distance, one could easily think it's a belt
  • 1 0
Oh yeah. Duh. Cogs with teeth easily give that away. It was the all black and flat top surface that stumped me there!
