This weekend was the second-of-five stops on the The Qashqai Urban Challenge series. The Nissan Qashqai events challenges fifteen of the world’s top urban freeriders to take on five European cities over five weekends to win the biggest-ever prize money in this sport. This is the first ever multi-freeride tour of its kind.Qashqai Urban Challenge presents riders taming the urban environment while highlighting a different MTB discipline in each of the five competitions. SRAM athlete and Santa Cruz Syndicate rider Jamie Goldman competed in the event and checked in again with another ‘Man on the Street’ report. Jamie spoke with SRAM, RockShox, Avid and Truvativ rider, Greg Watts:

JG: Who are you and what are you doing here? GW: My name is Greg “Double or Nothing” Watts and I am here for the Qashqai Urban Challenge Series.

JG: What’s the strangest single thought you’ve had while being mid-air? GW: The strangest thing would probably be if I took out the trash today or not.

JG: What’s your favorite part on your bike today and why? GW: My favorite part would be my rear wheel because I’ve been landing sideways and flat a lot and its still straight as an arrow.

JG: How many languages can you order a beer in? GW: Beer is a universal language, but I would say four.

JG: What do you think you’d be doing right now if you never got off training wheels? GW: Probably working masonry for my dad. It sucks, but it pays good.

JG: Are there any pictures of you posted up at any rental car joints? GW: No I’m not old enough to rent a car but they better watch out in the future.

JG: What was the first bike you jumped...and how did it break? GW: The first bike I jumped was a 20” wheeled K-Mart bike and it got ran over by a car.

JG: How many M&M’s do you think you can put in your mouth at once? GW: At least 300.

JG: Do you have a real life hero that you look up to? Who and why? GW: My dad because he taught me a lot about working my way to the top of a sport. (He was a Pro motocrosser back in the day) we actually had some of the same sponsors)
