Vanderham, from North Vancouver, British Columbia, is recognized internationally as one of the most influential riders in the world. His trademark riding style has been well documented in cycling’s most notable movies and magazines. Best known for his exploits in the big mountain genre of riding, Thomas has honed his skills in all areas of mountain biking, ranging from World Cup downhills to slopestyle competitions. Along with his riding resume, Thomas brings many years of industry experience in product development, marketing, and design to the Evil team.Evil Bikes is an idea that has been a long time in the making. We are a family of riders, designers, and engineers gathering from a variety of action sports backgrounds. The sport of mountain biking and the desire to do something different is what we share in common. Drawing from out of industry inspiration and experience, Evil hopes to bring a youthful feel and creative look to the mountain bike industry. We are headed by people who ride, influenced by design, all with the goal to make the best bikes on the market.

Over the course of the coming year Evil will be releasing an expanded and re-branded bike line, including a wide range of suspension bikes featuring Dave Weagle’s latest suspension platform, theDELTΔsystem. Thomas is a critical part of the Evil design team and will be working hand-in-hand with Evil’s product managers and engineers to bring the products he needs to the trails you ride.

Thomas commented about his new role with Evil, “I am very excited to work with Dave Weagle on his latest suspension design. His track record is undeniable; we will have some exciting new bikes coming out in 2009.” He went on to add, “It was very important for me to be a part of the project from the beginning and contribute to the creative process. Over the coming years it’s going to be fun to develop the bikes and help Evil reach its potential.”

“It’s great to finally announce this and put all the rumors to rest! It’s been hard keeping this whole operation a secret!” said Evil Bikes president Kevin Walsh. “Thomas brings equal parts rider, businessman, and family to Evil. We are handpicking people that align with the Evil culture and lifestyle and Thomas couldn’t be a more perfect fit.”

hey b-free are you on close personal terms with dave weagle. do you talk to him all the time. do you really think a guy would just design the suspension and then hand it over to someone else to design the rest of it doubt it with the way new suspension designs are popping up. hell, maybe even kona will consider moving into the 21st century. probably not

you bought a bike because of him? creepy

That's why bike companies sponsor riders - so people buy their bikes.

Christ...how many friggin Sundays sold because every stooge on the hill thought they could be fast like Sam if they only had a Sunday!? Gotta love marketing hype...

cool - huge industry shake up this year it seems....it's almost exciting, good tactic to get biking into the mainstream media, add some drama! Everyone likes drama, even if they don't know wtf it's about.

Nice to heard that, thomas is in the top of the best riders, starving to see those new bikes!
  • 1 0
stoked to see a cutting edge tech company grabbing some one who is all about big lines and style not racing results.
  • 0 2
stoked for vanderpants, one of my favourite riders. happy that DW continues to make biking better for everyone- the turner dhr will rule the dh race world next year- happy as shit evil is back and i'm pleased that rocky mountain continues to spiral downward into distant and obsure memories of poorly designed bikes run by indifferent businessmen. no one should ride for them or on them.

This is a partnership for the ages, the company and the rider are both right at the top end!

this is awesome, TV and Weagle should be a sweet combo.
  • 0 0
Weagle only designed the rear suspension, not the bike. He's done designing complete bikes.
  • 0 0
i saw him on a Cove at blue mountain i dont know what that was about:S
  • 0 0
i saw him on an ironhorse at whistler during crankworx....weird
  • 1 0
hah, he was never on an ironhorse.
  • 0 1
yea he was, for most the summer in whistler.
  • 2 0
i also saw him on cove in a magazine, really surprising why he didn´t went to this more experienced company, instead of riding a bike for a company which hardly anyone knew, but i think he had the right reasons for deciding that, and as long as they can support him worthy it´s good for the big mountain scene..
  • 1 0
no bro he was rocking a cove, trust me.
  • 0 0
he was on a cove briefly, but i rode with him in whistler and im 100% sure he was on an iron horse for much of the summer lol
