Thankfully, for those of us who couldn't make the pilgrimage to Crankworx, there was a downhill race to be had in the U.S. of A. In Brian Head, Utah to be precise. Brian Head is a small ski resort three hours north of Vegas and three and a half hours south of Salt Lake. They have five lift serviced MTB trails and several surrounding shuttle trails.
Kevin Aiello flying over the mid-course log drop.
The last meadow section into the finish line.
Brian Head is the highest ski resort in Utah. It is 9,600ft at the base (2,926m). This provided cool/damp conditions for some awesome summer racing.
Norman Adam flowing through the rock garden before the final drop.
Logan McPhie taking a digger mid-course. He popped back up and finished strong.
Jerome Lacote showing everyone how this "BH berm" should be done. This nasty off-camber turn pushed many racers off course.
Lil' Gritty was the trail chosen for this years race. The trail started out very wet because it rained and hailed right before the race. Midway through the lineup the lift went on lighting hold long enough for the trail to dry up for the Pro and Cat. 1 racers.
Ana Rodriguez heading into the last tree section.
