Yeah I agree. No Love to us xc guys. Lol I would've bought it too but theres no support for our part of the sport.

Sorry to say but someone climbing up a 4wd track in tight lycra isn't the traditional and inspirational kind of image anyone would want to see on a calendar. You want to see things that make you think 'wow', not 'meh'.

tom- I would love to show you a gallery of xc images that will make you think 'wow'

You have to admit DH is the more spectacular discipline within the sport and I say that as a trail rider

September's shot is close enough to xc for me..
  • 3 6
 XC? What's that?
  • 4 3
its when you get on a bike and ride up hills just to ride your brakes on the way back down... safety first dosent it sound fun to you

bmx is in there Big Grin

September is a pretty solid XC shot, and December is very all mountain/xc ish as well...

Is September the FROGPOD?...If it is the FROGPOD, I'll buy it for the FROGPOD...

looks like february to me bud

XC/ trail / AM riding is a lot about sweat and pain, which is never interesting to outside spectator. I ride mostly alone on my trails, even though I have lots of fun I don't feel myself doing anyhing spectacular, because it fkn isn't. God knows I tried to get "spectacular" XC shots. Especially a spectacular uphill shot to catch the spirit of trail riding. It has to be accompanied by some spectacular scenery or interesting conditions (rain, fog) otherwise... it sucks.

Jumps, dirt flying, epic sunsets is what looks good. What lies behind them is not interesting to an average eye. Kind of like everything in life Smile

 Yes...Duh...I meant February....FROGPOD....

the rider f¨rom the December shot rides on a Santa Cruz Blur Classic with 120mm front and rear - for those who are complaining about to less XC-shots Wink

im just making a simple joke people, its obvious that this is emphasizing DH/freeride/DJ. I realize some are similar to xc, but im just making a joke
  • 2 1
Yup second one is XC, a clean jump on 29er Big Grin

First is AM/epic, might be in a FR category - so not much satisfaction for leg shavers Big Grin

I ride XC and AM, and I have never dreamed of shaving my legs or wearing lycra (except for racing).

Great calendar guys, however, Maybe next year you could do a vote based calendar. Where all the Pink bike visitors choose ??,Just an idea....

The Photo of the Year competition is about to end. If we have a look at those top twelve, and compare them to these twelve, we could see if Pinkbike editorial staff pick a better set than us voters.

I have the 2011 calendar and there is one issue why I'm not going to order the 2012 and it probably has not been changed: week starts from sunday. I want my week start from monday on a calendar and I believe that's the way most europeans want it.
  • 1 0
The Sunday is on the left and works across to Sunday - it's how ours have always been and really shouldn't stop you from enjoying a nice calendar.
