2012 Scott On Air Dirt Jump Contest

Jun 20, 2012
by Ian Hylands

Riders loved the jumps that were shaped by Markus Hampl and Simon Moratz, especially the last jump which was a 2 sided hip. There were some great sessions that went down. Unfortunately the wind was a bit of an issue and there were a few crashes because of it. All 20 Riders went straight to Finals as we couldn’t go through with the qualifications due to the weather conditions.

Top 3

1. Pavel Alekhin
2. Amir Kabbani
3. Jonas Bernd

Pavel Alekhin with a nice flip double barspin

Pavel was the one to always smile at his runs.
A lot of the riders just knew him from his crazy web edit’s and it was nice to actually see him at an event!
In the end it was him who secured the winning run. With a Flip Double Barspin, double Tailwhip, and a 270 Barspin on the Hip, he captured the crowd and wowed the judges!

I wish there was events like this in the UK or at least some properly made ramps

King of Dirt? Empire of Dirt? you are denigrating the UK scene because we have moved beyond having 3 wooden ramps in a straight line...

They have all been in the south. I havent seen nothing in the north and when we do make something decent it isnt the council we worry about its little scooter kids ripping them apart and ruining it for everyone.
