2014 Dirt Junkie MTB Video & Photo Contest

Feb 12, 2014
by Stacy Karacostas
Even though snow was falling all over Puget Sound, more than 200 people packed the Gerk’s Ski and Cycle store in Issaquah last Saturday night for the 2nd Annual Winter Stoke Party and Dirt Junkie MTB Video & Photo Contest. The Schooner Exact kegs were flowin’, folks won sweet prizes in the silent auction and raffles, and everyone voted for their favorite photo and video.

Hosted by Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, the party was a huge success raising more than $7000 in net proceeds for Evergreen’s Washington Student League for middle school and high school age kids, and their Education Program. Best of all…Plenty of wintertime mountain bike stoke was generated along the way, and a stellar time was had by all!

This year three of the six videos entered were shot by and/or starred teenagers. Pretty cool stuff. If you didn’t make the party, you can check out this year’s winning entries below.

Thanks to everyone who entered the photo & video contest - and to everyone who bought bike raffle tickets or came out to the party!

Of course, a big shout out to all the party sponsors (Diamondback Bicycles, Gerk’s Ski and Cycle, Schooner Exact Brewing, REI, Platypus Hydration and Pinkbike). Plus all those who donated items to the silent auction including The Lumberyard, Stevens Pass Bike Park, and more.

Extra big thanks go out to the fine folks at Gerk’s for providing such a stellar venue for the party PLUS two gift cards worth $500 total… And to Diamondback for providing the bike we raffled off, and sponsoring the pint glasses everyone received!

If you couldn't make it this year, start shooting those photos and videos now. Then make plans to be at the next Winter Stoke Party in February 2015. To be notified of the party via email sign up for MTB News & Updates at evergreenmtb.org. Or like us on facebook. Until then, happy riding!
