What can u say that’s not been said before? An absolute legend that’s gives so much back to our sport. Good luck to SPS in 2014

Yes peaty is a legend and personally one of my favorite riders, that being said this team isn't free they still pay to be on it

I'd love to be a member of the SPS!

but, I'm in California. and 40+yrs. dammit!
  • 13 0
Same age as Peaty. You should be his deputy...
  • 5 0
Yeah I wonder why no one has set up his own team like that. I'm not a businessman but to me it seems to be both loads of fun and commercially viable. MTB needs more people like Peaty.

i think there is an sps in the usa, and age isnt important if youre fast.

Deputy? I'd take it! Hell, I'd wash the whole team's bikes to get to ride with Peaty and Ratty.. Those guys always seem to be having the best time.. and, of course they totally shred. if I could just keep up!

To go for a ride with Peaty and Ratty = one of my dreams.

sps in the US is the santa cruz syndicate

Peaty is a fantastic ambassador for our sport. The SPS might not be at everybody's disposal, but I feel this sort of interaction will filter down and become more accessible with other top level riders offering similar guidance and tuition for up and coming racers. This can only be a good thing for our sport/hobby/passion. Top man, thanks Steve.

World cup riders always have brand new setup every year.Maybe some changed frames every round. I'm just wondering how they test the bikes durability to real world abuse. They should use the same setup for at least 3 years to prove to their customers that this frame pass the 3 year world cup abuse. I bet no company can do that. Just a thought! Smile

I'm very happy for Steve Peat. Seeing SPS growing year after year is a great thing for MTB in general. Nice to see SPS will be racing Juniors on the World Cup level and that guy on the Bronson, oufff, man that edit was short but his moves were totally awesome. Thanks Steve and the best of luck for you this season and SPS.

That's Neil Donoghue on the Bronson, used to race world cup DH so pretty rapid...

Am i the only one which finds it amazing they built a bike in 30 minutes?
  • 1 0
I enjoy building up a new bike so I take my time!
  • 1 0
Not going to lie here, but day in day out building bikes, you do learn to be really quick with the entire process. Even when I'm building a semi complete i have my routine and i never stray from it. From scratch Sub 1 hour is expected from my boss and manager

Never build a bike so I wouldnt know, maintenance always takes more then 30 minutes when i do it Big Grin

3-4 people working on the bike makes it really easy actually. One person bleeding each brake at the same time, people switching off installing different parts...it adds up. I can build a bike in about 30 minutes if I'm going fast, but not a DH bike from the frame up.

Juste remembered that once I paid 4h for a LBS to build up my custome made bike. Thaaat's why their hour rates were so low...

Love it! Infact, I love that bike so much I bought one. "Used" of course. 4 rides used that is. It's everything I thought it would be...33 lbs of Love

My skills as a mechanic have reached the point I can carry allen keys in my beard. screwdrivers are a big step up though.

Always stoked to see Peaty! Best of luck to the SPS. Damn that V10 is sweet. I'd wait 2 hours to have one built for me. Looking forward to more vids.

  • 6 0
how much would it cost for a new v10, full race kid, a day off bike coaching with a uni sports department, a few days riding/training with steve and support at races? at todays prices id say 6k isnt that bad.
  • 3 0
Didn't say it wasn't good value for money. But that doesn't mean it's cheap.
  • 2 1
V-10 carbon! The lightest bike out there right?
  • 2 0
 go get them peaty!!!
  • 3 6
Good way for Santa Cruz to dump all the 26" V10's on the SPS just before the 27.5" version comes out :p.

Think SC will let most of the other teams go 27.5" and risk a bad season? Doubtful. My money says both SC and Specialized debute something at Sea Otter.
  • 2 0
you may be right but I'm sure any pro will tell you that wheel isn't gonna be the difference between a good and bad season.
  • 1 0
 That's an icon right there

Enve still listed as sponsor on his stevepeat.com
I'm assuming steve peat syndicate has different sponsor than santacruz syndicate (maybe..? Keep price down)
  • 1 0
The riders have a choice of several wheel sets enve, mavic...etc all riders personal choice to add or decrease cost on any of the Santa Cruz bikes at there disposal
