The 5th annual Pinkbike Photo of the Year Contest voting is underway. The winner will join John Wellburn, Toby Cowley, Sterling Lorence and Christoph Laue in the PB Photo of the Year Hall of Fame and they could walk away with $5,000.
How Does it Work? From thousands of nominated photos, 32 have been selected to pit against each other in a college basketball bracket-like showdown. At this point, it is up to you, the users, to vote on the match-ups. The photos with the most votes will move on to the next round. So 32 photos will narrow down to 16, then 8, 4, 2 until there is a single photo deemed the 2015 Trek Photo of the Year Powered by SRAM.

*edit- they're really cool, the first 10 times- nothing bad about the photo it's just such a textbook "sick shot" and a POY needs to be super unique
PS go to the 50 second mark and tell me again that he's just skidding for the camera: www.pinkbike.com/news/ur-team-dust-apocalypse-video-2015.html
Laue - great lighting, great colours, great backdrop, great composition/framing, great riding (although perhaps marked down for being a bit beyond us mere mortals?), maybe lacks overall action/dynamics
Trumpore - decent lighting, colours look a bit too HDRed (don't know if they actually are, just looks a bit that way), backdrop/setting isn't really applicable, composition I don't really know. Just looks like he's sat at a corner and taken a photo (obviously there's more to it than that but just seems like more thought has gone into this aspect on Laue's pic), great riding, great action.
So basically apart from the action in Trumpore's shot, I just don't see how I could ever say it was better than Laue's...but I guess it just depends on how others weight the different aspects of the pictures.
And the other two just don't do it for me for some reason (relative to these two anyway).

@LittleDominic, you're right. That photo is much better. I think it could have won this competition. There's no way I could vote for an advertisement to be the photo of the year.

My prediction: Sean Lee and Christoph Laue in the finals; Lee for the win.
That's my personal favorit and I don't care much about the actual winner.
PS: I don't like photos which look too staged and, to be honest, the "roost" one does to me.
personally i like #3
#4 is an advert
I don't own any footage and just do this as a hobby, if you could check it out it would be much appreciated.

Drop a like if you're feeling friendly. Cheers Guys
2nd one is powerful.
4th one is mountain sweet but blasted with Suzuki sponsorship? Meh.
! or 2, both amazing moments, tough call.
