Announcing the
2015 Sunshine Coaster XCM/DH on May 2nd and 3rd to kick the spring racing season into high gear. Plan for a weekend of MTB racing being hosted in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast.
On the Saturday, the Sunshine Coaster XCM returns with vengeance featuring a new course design incorporating new and less traveled trails in the infamous Roberts Creek area. This course will test your skills, endurance and fortitude. It will be about pacing yourself for a 3-5 hour race; it will be about cleaning the 60’ log skinny; it will be about reaching the top of Hwy 103 eyes crossed knowing there‘s 4km of sweet DH singletrack to come and it will be about conquering a race with more elevation gain than any other race held on the West Coast. So get on that bike and start training hard, hone your downhill skills and prepare for some technical trail features like skinnies, drops, and ladders. You will be rewarded with the best flowy singletrack this coast has to offer. You ready? We say “
GO BIG OR GO HOME!”
On Sunday, we will be running the much loved Coaster DH on the Mach Chicken trail - the course is 1.5km long and drops elevation at an avg of -12 percent. It's not overly technical and can be ridden by the aspiring young DH rider up to the Pro-level riding at mach speed. This course with its built-in berms, drops, log gaps and flowy turns is designed to put a smile on the racer's faces and be fun guaranteed! Not racing? Come out to join in on the fun and cheer on the riders!
