Day one of racing today in Samoens was a gloopy one. The sun stayed out all day, but the ground was sodden, due to a few days of rain earlier in the week, this made racing pretty tough today. This may not be the challenge the riders were expecting, but it sure was a serious challenge for the final round of the French Enduro Series.
It was a true battle against the conditions, first thing this morning riders didn’t know what to expect… but as soon as stage one dropped into the woodland it was obvious and a real eye opener. We saw Elliot Trabac take the lead straight away, who managed to hold on to that all day, the series leader, Irenee Menjou had a nightmare which cost him valuable time and put him one minute back. Clement Benoit is sitting happily in second and Nico Quere is in third. In the ladies race, Morgane Jonnier is over two minutes ahead of her closest competitor, Axelle Murigneux.
