bigquotesI get asked all the time; "Troy, where do you get your design inspiration from?" and I have to pause, because I am surrounded by so many creative outlets, whether it is new carbon bikes, motorcycles, artists, paint colors, the list goes on and on. This year for our bicycle line I felt inspired with what I saw on the trail and in the wild. My youngest kids are riding their bikes a lot more and seeing the ride experience through their eyes is like a bicycle rebirth for me - I am loving it. From our family rides on our local Laguna Beach trails, to the big pilgrimage we make to Whistler, Canada, I find inspiration in the shapes and colors that are all over outdoors... they say you have to stop and smell the roses, it's very true. Inspiration also comes from our amazing athletes we are partnered with all over the world. They racked up more wins and exposure for us than we ever could have imagined. The athletes push us daily to innovate and create-that inspires us. But ultimately, your safety, comfort and style is my priority, which always pushes us the most and we at TLD have done an incredible job bringing you another year of riding equipment for 2016. I hope you enjoy it and hope to see you on the trails! - Troy Lee, owner of Troy Lee Designs

Always like tld but no matter what I plump for, when I go out the door for a ride I hear POWER RANGERS behind me....she doesn't understand.
  • 4 3
Haters gonna hate no matter what. I just ingnore them and wear my tld kit every time.
  • 3 0
Sprint guy loves rockin his chest out bro style
  • 2 0
You know what though? Sprint is the nicest long sleeve I've owned. there's lots of little details in it that make if fit nicer, like the cuffs with a wedge of spandex instead of a elastic band or solid fabric. pushes up the arms comfortably, doesn't feel weird when they're down. Quality.
  • 47 3
Why is everyone italicised. Is this urgent?
  • 8 0
And there was me thinking it was just me reading with my head tilted sideways.
  • 3 1
Some of these jerseys are cool, some not... i'm not going to buy anything because they are to expensive Frown
  • 5 0
Why is that 10 year old riding a V10
  • 22 1
I thought last year's gear was a bit wild, but overall there was quite few nice kits.

This season I only like the look of the red and the black sprint gear, everything else looks daft / I'm not fast enough to pull off.
  • 5 0
Exactly. I was the guy that always prefered the looks of TLD compared to Fox. But this year I think the things have changed... But this is just my opinion. Everyone has its tastes
  • 5 1
Have you seen the fox collection this year? Straight 80's
  • 6 0
I've noticed it in quite a few industries recently where things don't look right / aren't right. It amazes me that someone at one stage in the design has thought. "Yes that looks good"

Movies, adverts, computer games, clothing.

Maybe i'm just getting old.
  • 2 1
Fox has completely lost their shut
  • 1 1
Yaki I completely agree. Foxes 2016 line up is hideous. And this is coming someone who from someone who has an entire closet of only fox apparel
  • 6 3
Omfg who cares, you can still find their 2013/2014/2015 products in shops, it's not a fashion brand, nobody gives a damn if you wear a jersey from 2016 or 2015 season...
  • 14 2

Why do the guys in the full kits have a stance like they want to fight each other?
  • 15 0
They're swole, bro. Plus, anyone wearing a full kit at the bike park who doesn't actually race usually stands like that too. Lolol.
  • 5 0
Seems a fair bit more understated, compared to last years offerings of leopard print everything lol
  • 4 0
Yeah, the leopard print was wild af. Sprint gear from last year was dope though
  • 2 0
love that black skyline jersey, my cupa tea, just the logo and classic black t style - timeless Smile Also like the sounds of the revised ace shorts, kept catching the velcro on the waist adjusters until I cut them to size. Selling shorts and bibs/liners separate gets a big thumbs up and those bibs sound like they will give Specalized swats a run for the money. New kit time

 No Sam Hill :O
  • 3 0
noticed that on the helmet release, maybe hes moving to the 100% helmet?
  • 3 0
He is on leatt helmet lol
  • 5 0
ergh, that helmett is serious 3/10 would not bang
  • 16 0
From the ridemonkey forums here's what TLD says happened

"Not sure what the politically correct thing to say here is, but, we are a pretty open and honest brand, so here goes. Having Sam Hill in another brand of gear...sucks. Sam has been with us for over a decade, and when we lost him in gear (2014) it was not fun. We were able to keep Sam in helmets for the last 2 years, but for 2016 a newcomer came into his team's sponsorship negotiations and we dug deep to keep Sam-but also outfit the rest of his rad teammates. Sam's team did not want him doing his own deals, which us totally understandable, so we jumped in with an offer to sponsor the whole program-including Sam. Ultimately, the stakes became too high, this competitor was willing to pay significantly more and we had to step away. The team has a different sponsor for half shell/enduro riding, so the fact our guys wouldn't be able to wear our A1, along with our D3's, made it a little complicated. The stakes in that game became so high for our small brand, it would have diverted funds from future development of our products. It was also a bummer to not come to a deal with Sam's team because we have a good relationship with Nigel Page and his company, always fun working with those fellas, but, business is business. So, that's that. Sam will ALWAYS be a part of the TLD family, the door is ALWAYS open, and we would gladly have him back next year, in 2 years, in 10, whatever it takes. We love Sam Hill and we hope we are together again"

Ridemonkey? Hmmm... looks pretty similar (i.e. carbon copy) to the statement in the thread here: www.pinkbike.com/news/first-look-2016-troy-lee-designs-helmet-collection.html?trk=rss

 no moto, no care

I've never ridden full dh racing pants, but they look really hot. Like, as in sweaty balls. Like wearing snowpants in the summer.
  • 5 0
Not hot...more of our team guys have switched back to pants, once we came out with the super light and ventilated Sprint pant.
  • 1 0
Really? I need to try some then
  • 7 2
100%, please start making MTB clothing.
  • 3 1
 @hillbillyhero cool first post!
  • 2 0
 Stickman, that you?
  • 2 1
Those RAID Knee Guard look really good. I am currently running the 5450 and are comfortable and generally work okay but they are a bit loose around the top. So the RAID with the top strap looks like a really good alternative.
  • 5 0
ACE kit screams..."Not you fat boy. Not...you!"
  • 1 0
The thing I love about Troy Lee is that Troy is always coming up with these designs creatively because he loves it and is inspired. Not because of what is popular or isn't. Which I relate too. Because I like riding bikes for the fact that I love it and its amazingly fun, not because someone else tells me too. Much respect to Troy, and everyone involved. You guys make amazing gear every year. but you nailed it this year!
  • 1 0
Once again the guys at Troy Lee, many of them I'm proud to call friends and riding buddies, have nailed it. I'm running the ruckus shorts with the skyline jerseys. D3 and A1 helmets. Ruckus and Air Gloves. Brilliant work - @troyleedesigns for life!!
  • 1 1
As usual my apparel for this year is last seasons stuff on clearance haha. Picked up two pairs of ACE shorts for $230 on Competitive Cyclist and have been wondering why I didn't buy a pair years ago because they are so frickin comfortable. Oh, wait, the $165 price tag for regular price was probably why haha. Just might pick up a 2016 pair anyway. Unfortunately, they don't match my two 2015 Dakine jerseys I bought on clearance but maybe I will go full gay and buy a TLD jersey to compliment the shorts.
  • 2 0
Should have waited longer. I picked up a pair of ACE shorts a year ago for 70 doll hairs at Backcountry.com. Glad you thought you got a deal though.
  • 2 0
 Ace is on sale everywhere
  • 3 0
@Rdot84 whats the exchange rate on doll hairs now?my lbs won't touch em.
  • 1 0
I wish they would add some straps to the 5400 and 5450 knee pads. Mine stretched so they slide down during riding hence I rarely wear them anymore.
  • 1 0
@matadorCE Working on that, in the mean time, the new RAID and SPEED series are hella rad-we tested the crap out of these all during the summer with our pro's, lots of tweaks and fine tuning. Pretty sick.
  • 3 0
The dudes wearing the dh stuff have the "bro wassup" pose on point.
  • 1 0
Loved last years Ace shorts / jersey combo, if the 2016 come with a proper bib they'll be a winner.
  • 2 0
Too bad, no speeda this year
  • 1 0
so u don`t ride all mountain winter? why there`s no full length ruckus jerseys?
  • 5 0
We have a ruckus jacket and a long sleeve ruckus base layer coming in a few months. Keep yelling about wanting a long sleeve though, squeaky wheel get's the oil.
  • 1 0
Digging the Ruckus shorts. Simple design and color scheme right up my alley.

 $72 mof'in dollars FOR A FLANNEL SHIRT....
  • 5 0
Its not actually flannel, looks like it.... but its a kinda weather smart, moisture wicking stuff.
  • 1 0
No more 'lumberjack' for me,killed by the hipsters.
  • 2 1
I pay more than that for my North Face flannels
  • 2 0
  • 2 1
no more LEOPARD stuff ?? Frown
  • 1 0
hahaha it s like santa cruz .. prices come never ever next to the product
  • 1 0
Who's helmet is Sam Hill using this year? Didn't notice him on the list...
  • 2 1
 Looks pretty legit
  • 1 1
Not a fan of the Two-Face styling.
  • 1 2
Ruckus short with built-in liner? Burn it, burn it with fire!
  • 3 0
@gonecoastal it is detachable. No burning needed. :-)
  • 1 0
The included liner has always been a feature I've never wanted. Prefer to wear my own bib shorts underneath is all.
  • 1 2
Protection pretty much the same like last year.
  • 1 0
@myanh Did you not see the all new RAID knee, Speed Knee, Speed Elbow? 3 all new pads with D3O. Also the T-bone had some rad mods made.
  • 1 0
Hi Troy lee, well it's a general statement, iam looking at last year model and compare...for exemple at first look the t-bone look like the panic. The method look very similar same for 5450 and so on.
