2017 Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup

It won’t be long until race season comes round once again. Now is the time to work on the fitness for those long stages when the arms and legs start to burn. It’s also time to sit down and start planning your race calendars and mega trips with your riding buddies. If you live in or need any excuse to visit Ireland you don’t need to be told about the healthy riding community where racing brings all these people together. The Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup will be entering its 3rd season and boy does it look good.

Entries go live on the 1st November and up until 31st December 2016 or when 50 entries sell out there is an early bird offer of 20% off. Check out below the low down on each round. For more information and to enter please visit here.

Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup 2016

Round 1 – Bellurgan Park/ Lumpers, Dundalk, Co Louth - 1/2nd April 2017

Bellurgan and Lumpers is a brand spanking new venue for Enduro racing, but the area is no stranger to downhill and cross country racing. Set in the Cooley mountains only 45 mins from Dublin and 1hr from Belfast access to the mountain world could not be easier. There will be 5 stages spread over the two forests that will use existing trails along with some fresh cut dirt for your tyres to get into.

Round 2 – Donard, Newcastle, Co Down - 16/17th May 2017

Donard is the most challenging venue on the circuit due to its long technical trails. Situated on the big side of the Mourne mountains all the stages hide under Northern Irelands tallest mountain Slieve Donard (852m). It’s the week before the Irish EWS so you don’t know who you will be racing with.

Round 3 – Bigwood, Narrow Water castle, Warrenpoint, Co Down - 5/6th August

Bigwood is always the favourite and most attended race of the season. It’s simple to understand why, easy transitions and flowy, natural stages tick all the boxes for enduro racing. Plans have been made for new sections to keep the locals on their toes so no one will be disappointed.

Round 4 – Castlewellan, Co Down - 15/16th September 2017

Castlewellan is one of Northern Ireland's leading trail centres. Each stage is made up of natural sections and the best parts of the trail centre. A cracking spot to camp and spend some extra time in the area as there is so much to do.

 It's always the interesting races that are like 10h away from me. Does anyone know of any local races to Gloucester?

 Doctor Foster went to Gloucester,
In a shower of rain;
He raced through a puddle,
Right up to his saddle,
And never went there again.
