Sep 29, 2020
by James Smurthwaite
The skethy shark fin is a disappointment to watch with 99 of riders... not the case with Dakota Norton however.

The UCI has today published the full list of athletes that will be heading to the World Championships in Leogang, Austria this week. Despite COVID hanging over the event, riders from around the world will still congregate in Zell am See to fight it out for the Rainbows. The full list of riders is below:

Scribd is hard work, just give us the Downhill riders and be done with it Smile
  • 11 2
Yeah scribd sucks a fat one. I dont understand why anyone would use it.
  • 22 20
It works perfectly fine if you have half a brain.
  • 60 1
@mollow: you see that's the problem. I have a complete brain. tup
  • 4 3
@Dropthedebt: just click on the expanding arrows at the bottom right corner then, mate.
  • 1 0
@Afterschoolsports: They talked about it in a podcast...
  • 2 1
@PAmtbiker: Levy literally can’t even pronounce it...”scribbed” for your pleasure...never mind explaining how the hell anyone is sposed to use it!

You’re right though. It sounds like it’s the UCI’s fault for publishing crappy pdfs.
  • 3 0
@mollow: It's poor in terms of usability and accessibility. I mean, a PDF embedded in an IFrame ffs it's arcane.
Do the UCI believe this is a more secure or official format for publishing information? It's officially shit.
  • 1 0
@Steventux: I am very pleased to see the correct descriptive words being used here. In fact, take the rest of the day off. Your simple summation could have saved the company millions if we'd just realised sooner. It's true, Scribd is shit. #usecrayon

No Gee again? Legitimate question, why does he miss selection on Team GB?
  • 19 1
he's probably gonna win hardline again right after
  • 16 0
Agreed, it seems completely crazy that a two-time world champ doesn’t get selected

Same reason why Earl Thomas doesn't have a job... People don't want him on the team.

A bigger question: Is Britain really Great?
  • 12 3
 @racecase: Make Britain great again!
  • 13 0
 @mollow:
Make the B.D.S. great again.
  • 1 0
@geerumm: i think hes signing with texans.....0-3 makes for desperate times!
  • 28 0
@racecase: Is the United States really united?
  • 5 0
@mollow: No don't do that remember what happened last time
  • 11 0
Two time World Champion with a higher 2019 and 2020 UCI ranking than some of the guys that did make the team. Would love to know selection criteria.
  • 8 0
@Superburner: I also don't understand the hate towards Gee. Pretty likable, dedicated and skilled guy IMO.
  • 4 0
@racecase: Don't take that away from us, please send chlorinated chicken soon.
  • 1 0
He's doing the IXS DH at Crankworx this weekend though, no?!? Same with Kaos?
  • 27 4
It's still weird not seeing Steve's name on a list. I miss him everyday
  • 5 6
 Were you related or friends?
  • 4 0
@jimmythehat: I lived in Nanaimo right when he was moving from a jr to elite. He was fearless and no one attacked like he did . I would wake up at 2am to watch his races live

I still can't get my head around the fact that Brook Macdonald is back in the game. After seeing his rehab this time last year, I thought he'd be lucky to race anything again!
  • 6 0
Came here just to say that! Brook! That's incredible Big Grin
  • 1 0
 @chmurka3rg: and scary
  • 9 0
Let's hope this race doesn't get cancelled. I can't handle the disappointment...
  • 1 1
Have you seen all the snow up there? Just few more chilly days and it will stay there till spring ... Global warming salutes you Wink
  • 5 2
@lkubica: you are a very good rally driver sir! I loved your f1 comeback 2 years ago!
  • 3 4
@blackapturphoto: yeah very original comment. Tell me how does it check out exactly?
  • 5 0
@isuckatridingbutmybikeiscool: I just realized how that could look pretty offensive. Apologies. I was more meaning that's a funny username.

There was snow down in Lenzerheide village last weekend and there have even been a couple of lifts opening for skiing here in Switzerland. I assume that the snow will melt pretty soon though
  • 10 2
I’d (almost) forgotten how much I dislike scribd...
  • 8 0
 No canadian women. Disappointing.
  • 2 0
Ya no kidding. Wonder what was the reason? No Forrest Riesco in the mens side either.
  • 2 0
@lastminutetech: To be on the Canadian roster you already had to be in Europe for racing, they werent putting anyone on the team who still had to deal with travel to Europe.
  • 2 0
I thought Miranda Miller was going to race the DH track at Leogang?
  • 1 0
@MCsession7: Ahhh gotcha, thx for the heads up!
  • 6 2
Time to break out the ski bikes!
Here’s a look at the “race track” at this time! If COVID doesn’t get the event cancelled then the snow will... Don’t get your hopes up too much people

Tire selection will be key this year.
  • 2 0
A dusting of snow and a 9 degree C current temperature does not suggest the snow will stay long.
  • 5 2
@paulskibum: at the top it is well below 9 degrees. Since champs will be in a few weeks I don’t think the weather will play nice
  • 3 0
@isuckatridingbutmybikeiscool: Its actually next week already
  • 9 2
Gee atherton and flairclough for Great Britain team!
  • 6 0

  • 4 0
 Isn’t he injured?
  • 3 0
He was injured and is currently recovering
  • 2 0
check his Instagram. He's still having physio

A French lockout in the mens DH is a real possibility. Would love to see something like that happen. Either way it's gonna be a hell of a weekends racing. A lot of do or die runs, more than normal I reckon.
  • 1 0
Hopefully the event will happen! There are some new sketchy and big features on the new wood-section after the wall-rides (one jump looks more like a hardline-gap)...

Also I want to See Vali in the Womens Pro-Race (fingers-crossed)!
  • 2 0
I'm actually pumped to see Rachel Atherton back up against the big players again. When we saw Tracey Hannah dominate Crankworx earlier in the year none of the big dogs were there.
  • 5 0
 2021 is my year
  • 4 0
 No denim destroyer? Thats sad
  • 1 0
 He's injured
  • 5 1
 Dammm no Amaury ????
  • 2 0
 Big injury
  • 1 0
apparently the biggest crash never recorded on camera
  • 2 0
i don't see any real threats to moi on this list.
  • 4 0
Please clarify. Is that “moi” as in “me” or “moi” as in Jack Moir. Unlike the rest of us I think your opinion actually matters!
  • 1 0
Is anyone racing the IXS DH this weekend AND the UCI DH next weekend back to back?
  • 1 0
Wow, they all sending their best huh....
  • 2 0
 Dale pedro !!!
  • 2 0
 blenki?
  • 1 0
Wait a second is Amaury not racing?
  • 2 3
Ridiculous that they have e bike xc as discipline but no e bike enduro. Can Sven Nys bunny hop an e bike?
  • 2 0
Kinda seems like its turning into the new "legends" category. Not mad about that.
  • 1 0
 Still no TV covering?
  • 1 0
 No dean lucas?
  • 1 0
He and Connor Fearon made the call to stay home in Oz
  • 1 0
 @brownies: very sensible
  • 2 5
There is a US team? I guess they are eligible but are they going?

You do realize the only countries on lockdown are Canada, USA, Australia, and New Zealand. Every other country has followed the science and came to the conclusion it's a bad case if influenza
  • 24 1
 @G3V162F: go to bed.
  • 2 1
People coming from America would have to quarantine in a lot of Europe or aren't even allowed in at all. I guess expat Americans could still join (eg Newkirk in the Women's DH lives in Switzerland)
