Highland Mountain Bike Park, America’s Bike Park, is deep in the trenches gearing up for the coveted Claymore Challenge, a Gold level stop on the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour. The Claymore is set for July 18-21 with the Teva Best Trick going down on Friday night under the lights and the finals kicking off on Saturday afternoon.

The Claymore course is currently under going a facelift with Dave Smutok making his newest vision a reality. “With the addition of the Ayr Bag, which mimics the infamous Freebird jump, we were forced to change the entire bottom section of the course. The “Shred Shed” is gone and new features are currently being built by the trail crew,” says course designer and pro rider Dave Smutok.

Highland has also stepped it up this year, partnering with media giant Red Bull Media House to own and produce this year’s webcast, to be broadcast LIVE on www.redbull.com/bike. “Partnering with Red Bull Media House was a great move to help bring the Claymore to the next level, reach the masses and highlight what this event is all about,” says Highland Owner Mark Hayes. The event will be shot and produced by Boombox Productions, the company behind the webcast of Crankworx Whistler and many other amazing events.

With over $20,000 in cash on the line - you know riders will be throwing down, not only for the big check, but also for the bragging rights of being knighted as Highland’s newest champion, taking a dip in McCaul’s Pond.

The Claymore Challenge is a family friendly, free event for spectators, complete with an interactive sponsor village, athlete meet and greets and much more. Visit www.Claymorechallenge.com for more information and “like” Claymore Challenge on Facebook.
