Same bike but new team for Dan Wolfe as he joins Polygon UR for 2020. Tune into our Instagram stories for behind the scenes coverage from the EWS this year.

Didn't know Johnny Sins had such a sick ride.

What lube is he on this time?
  • 24 0
Seriously, is there anything this man can't do?
  • 9 1
 @jurassicrider: animals maybe lol
  • 16 0
@jurassicrider: He is a doctor, fireman, teacher, policeman and now mountain bike racer too! A man of many talents indeed.
  • 8 1
@piersgritten: real 'hard' worker, a working class extraordinaire Cop Fireman Nurse Army Construction Cook

So... how am I going to explain to my ITs and higher ups why I was Googling Johnny Sins?

 @Euskafreez: cuM-Off, so I've heard

.

I really don’t understand how he won this bike race, I don’t remember him being a very fast man...

Johnny has been riding MTB for sometime.

 Does Johnny even ride dirt!
  • 1 0
@Brownsworthy:what we do know is he likes to ride them dirty...

 Silver Norco is sick!

+1. Love the uninterrupted top tube/seat stays line.
  • 4 1
 that iridescent paint; so rad!

So, when’s the embargo on the 38 lifting? I can’t believe we don’t have a load of close up shots, except if the media release is just waiting on someone to hit the button!
  • 4 4
distinct lack of mention of pinch bolts or air release valves is kinda obvious.... maybe salty the other site found all this stuff first?
  • 4 0
Fox should go with a single crown 40 instead...
  • 2 0
You ever heard of sea otter? That’s when it will get announced
  • 1 0
I do also believe Cole and Eddie have two different forms of X2 shock also... compared to the standard everyone else is running ????
  • 1 0
@BobChicken: Both Eddie and Cole look to be running the "38". They have pinch bolts and air release valves on them.

I wonder if Pivot is going to be switching between the Switchblade and the Firebird depending on the track, or if this was a one-off for product promotion. Feel like it's the latter.
  • 4 0
Weren't a lot of Devinci racers going back and forth between the Spartan and the Troy. I bet the "All Mountain" rigs probably work better in a lot of places.

That new switchblade is gorgeous Drool
  • 7 0
I'm loving all that shimano! XTRRRR
  • 1 0
This is the way, I've spoken Cool !
  • 4 1
Aside from the frame these look all the same... Fox or RS suspension... Shimano or SRAM drivetrains. That stuff is great and we know its great. The Pros ride what they're paid to ride but it would be cool to see Privateer's or non-sponsored racer's bikes with a little blurb on why they chose the components on their bike. I feel like if you've seen one Pro's bike you've seen them all.
  • 8 0
Fox or RS suspension? I see DVO and SR Suntour...
  • 6 0
That Assegai/Agressor combo looks popular. No dissector?
  • 4 0
Aggressor is faster than Dissector, and there was even someone running a Kenda Helldiver in here.
  • 4 2
Georgia Astle bossin it up showing her bike bottle mount can fit a 750ml champagne bottle! Also surprised to see Ed on the Switchblade instead of the firebird. Also also that new X2 and 38 fork has to be imminent with how many people are riding them.

charlie murray with a sram centerline front rotor and a shimano rear rotor with XTR brakes. wonder if he boogered up his front rotor and needed a replacement quick or if there's an actual purpose for the centerline rotor in the front.
  • 1 0
He built that bike the morning of the race, he's just changed sponsors from Yeti to Pivot.
  • 5 2
Alot of rider on shimano groupset.
Does that mean its better or just sponser?
  • 40 10
Because it is, and it's cheaper and it's tougher and it's more reliable.
  • 9 3
 Sponsor
  • 8 0
Sponsorship, though from experience the new Shimano 12s are real nice.
  • 5 0
Shimano groupsets, SRAM brakes seems like the best combo.
  • 4 0
@roma258: That would have been blasphemy just 3 years ago. And some crusty guys might still be offended. I concur though. I like the new Shimano 4 Piston stuff, but still prefer Code RSCs. I have needed to service 2 of my shimano clutches because they wouldn't let the derailleur spring back. Simple enough procedure though.

PB: Congrats on your podium finish but can you take the champagne bottle out of your water bottle holder for our bike check pic please?
Georgia Astle: I thought you guys wanted it as it was raced! Big Grin
  • 14 2
$500. Sad, really. I think people make more for growing large pumpkins at their state fairs.
  • 8 0
@rrolly: weird analogy but i agree
  • 1 0
@rrolly: Barely covers the luggage fees to bring the bike over I'm guessing.
  • 4 0
Blenki effect - NF - that sight is real sick
  • 2 0
New 36 on Eddie's bike and 38 on the Ibis? Casting on top looks slightly different, much bigger on the Ibis.
  • 1 0
Both Eddie and Cole look to have the 38, both have air release valves and pinch bolts. Look a bit beefier than a 36 too.
  • 1 0
@aschark: also the RAD (Research And Development) logo give it away. Looks to be in fairly late stages of testing as they went for Kashima coating on them, most early Fox test gear they don't bother spending extra money on the Kashima tubes
  • 3 1
Polygon looks kinda oldschool. Sight is best looking bike out of those, straight lines.
  • 2 0
I'd love to a back to back demo of the 2019 and 2020 Sights.
  • 1 1
@rrolly: why? They are entirely different bikes that happen to share the same name.

Good deals to be had in the 2019 though. Lbs has a 2019 a1 sight for the same price as a fluid FS a1 (so 30%+). I bought my 2019 end of season and got 20% off which I was more than happy with. Might have to pick up a matching bike for the wife.

I find the 2019 just enough bike. I had to increase the volume spacer in the shock and I use all the fork's travel. Next bike will have a steeper st. That's the one thing I don't love.

@eh-steve: I don't want to give up the ability to climb well for an enduro tank. The 2018/19 rode really well both up and down. I'd like to see how much climbing ability is lost on the 2020 in comparison. At this point I don't think the Optik is the way to go for me as there likely isn't enough margin for error descending when you throw my "skills" at it.

The angles on the Polygon Siskiu N are at least semi-current and its by far the cheapest bike here. I'd really like to try the Siskiu N, it seems like amazingly good value for money even compared to the likes of YT, Canyon and Commencal
  • 1 0
Hey, @CodyKelley, looks like you might not be busy on the 27th March. I'm having a BBQ if you want to come? I will have cake.
  • 3 0
8 bikes.. Only 1 running coil shock
  • 4 2
I can't believe I'm going to say this... I want a specialized Enduro!
  • 2 0
Are Rae and Georgia on mullets?
  • 2 0
 170mm travel on Eddie´s bike?
  • 1 0
So happy to see everyone being safe and wearing their knee pads down by the lake.
  • 1 0
How many riders out there with the 38mm RS fork that they don’t want pictures of?
  • 1 0
if that water bottle comes stock on Devinci's, I may need have another look!
  • 1 0
I'd really like to try that Polygon Siskiu N9. Looks like crazy good value for 2800€
