"Wow who would have thought that in our own backyard there is some of the most amazing looking trails I have ever seen before!" That's what was going through my head as Bob Jones was hiking me into this "epic spot" one early morning, late in March. I couldn't believe my eyes. There was so much beautiful scenery that I struggled finding where to point the camera half the time. I edited the footage I did manage to grab into what will be our first SHREDIT this year. "A Means to an End," featuring Bob Jones.

Bob is a local mechanic and racer who recently moved to BC, Canada from Wales. He rips on whatever he rides, and he more than anyone else I know, he truly lives and breathes the sport of cycling.

I just want to say thanks for watching and checking out our first project this year! I am pretty stoked to be bringing more culture and lifestyle oriented biking videos for you guys this year!

If you wanna keep in touch and see what projects we are working on next Facebook is the best way.

So incredibly well done. I am surprised as you are about that trail. Ridden ledgeview years and never knew about them.

Bob - so cool to see a vid of you shredding the valley. Maybe we'll see a shoot of you up here on Vedder soon - this makes me want to climb to The Den right now! That trail looks so nice and so well filmed too! VOD for sure - great vid.

It's a shame what's happening to ledgeview Whatcom rd going through now and all the housing development. Still my number 1 place to ride!

I don't believe this is a remixed version, I thought the remixed version was more R&B/House sounding

The shots were awesome, how did you get the shot following him on the trail and floating over the rock edge, steadycam? Cuz those were just epic.

I'm quite new to the sport, and have a noob question to ask..
Why the hell is there a tube on his fork?
could anybody please tell me?

When you ride in muddy conditions (which is a lot of the fall spring riding in BC) dirt sticks to the tire and flies around the front of the bike. Which you then proceed to ride into making yourself more muddy than need be.

That makes sense. After i posted the comment i thought of that but thought that would be silly. Guess not, it works so why not?

So this trail is off flintstone?? Been riding ledgeview for years and have. Ever come across it

 What model bike is that...?
  • 1 0
Either a Stumpjumper or camber, by specialized
  • 1 0
Its the 2011 epic. It has the Reba front fork and the camber does not come in that color

Stumpy 29er with a few changes to spec. Bob rallies that bike all over the valley out here.
  • 2 0
Yeah bob rides everyhthing on that bike, even wins super D's on that thing, it shreds. And demonboi your right stumpy's normally don't come in that color, Bob's is the test bike color scheme.

Nice work Left Coast, good job including a subtle story line and capturing the feel of the ride so well. Really mature filmmaking coming from someone young and up and coming is refreshing to see. Hope this gets VOD soon! I'm pumped to go ride my AM bike now, that's the way vids should be!

It's not the epic, different frame design fo' sure
  • 1 0
That would explain why the fork looks shorter travel, bcos of the 29er wheels! Smile
