Canyon at Roc d'Azur

What an amazing season! From the home trails to races in Europe and North America – the CANYON Factory Enduro Team, which got founded in the beginning of 2013, has experienced a lot during its journeys! Now, the first season is coming to an end and of course there is much to tell. The clip "This is Enduro" gives great insights into the exciting times of the five riders. Anyone who wants to chat in person with the CANYON enduro heroes about their adventures should visit the legendary mountain bike event, the Roc d’Azur from 9 to 13 October 2013. There, the German bicycle manufacturer will be on-site with its heroes and the whole bike range – including the 2014 test bikes.

250 exhibitors, 20,000 participants and 150,000 visitors from 50 countries – the Roc d'Azur is a mountain bike event of superlatives! No wonder that from 9 to 13 October 2013 it’s again all about biking in Fréjus in southern France. Of course, the main partner CANYON will be on-site and hold many surprises: from CANYON athletes to more than 40 bikes of the 2014 season, a CANYON bike wash, some helpful mechanical tips and an exclusively created ice-cream in CANYON Factory Enduro Team and Topeak-Ergon Racing Team colours. Furthermore, at the CANYON booth the latest technological innovations will be introduced. For those who prefer it quieter, visit the CANYON café for a drink where you can also meet the CANYON team riders.


Speaking of the CANYON team riders: local hero Fabien Barel together with Joe Barnes and Maxi Dickerhoff from the CANYON Factory Enduro Team will be on-site and start at EnduRoc Canyon on Thursday, 10 October. The recently released clip "This is Enduro" (www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0IoYyp2eOY) shows how exhausting such an enduro race can be. This special event film takes a closer look at the CANYON Factory Enduro Team, its challenges of day-to-day racing, but also the special fascination of this discipline. At Roc d'Azur, fans have the chance to dig into the world of the team and meet Fabien, Joe and Maxi in person.


Moreover, almost all European riders of the Topeak-Ergon Racing Team will attend the Roc d’Azur: Alban Lakata, Robert Mennen, Sally Bigham, Nadine Rieder and Milena Landtwing. Sally Bigham is keen to defend the Roc Marathon Mondovélo title for the fourth time on Friday, 11 October. And also the other riders want to tie in with their last year’s success: in 2012, Alban Lakata started with Robert Mennen in both the marathon and in the men’s XC race. There, the Austrian finished the marathon in fourth place, his team mate Mennen finished with an eleventh. At the big XC decision of the season Lakata, Mennen and Wolfram Kurschat all three reached the Top 10. So the audience can look forward again to hard-hitting racing action!


Another highlight and crowd puller is the traditional slopestyle contest with CANYON being also a major partner this year.
