Video: All Day Every Day

Nov 29, 2013
by Simon Nieborak
The enduro format of racing has ignited the mountain bike scene and injected new life into everyday riding. The wide appeal is that it pitches a diverse variety of racers and trails together and places an emphasis on all round ability. With ‘All Day Every Day’ we wanted to create a film than took the ethos of enduro but placed it away from the race tracks and instead into an all day adventure. It’s a film about exploration and hunting out new trails. Finding descents in which there is only one uplift.

You.

Filming and photographing this film was an epic adventure in itself requiring many miles of hiking into the wilderness even before the camera was rolling. What was found though were great trails, awesome scenery and a chance to ride far and fast.

After a while, it was like having to sit through someone's holiday shots. "And look, here's one of me in exactly the same spot, but from the side."

Now that I've sprained my finger flipping to the comments, I'd like to ask how this is "enduro" and not just "mountain biking"?
  • 25 0
Apparently enduro now encompasses every aspect of trial riding that doesn't require lycra or assistance to go uphill... even though enduro was literally introduced into MTBing as a racing format and that's all. It'd be like ripping around on a dirt bike on tech trails for a while and sayin, "Yeah I just went out for a little bit of an enduro ride". But really I didn't notice that because all those pictures sent me off to a place devoid of small issues like that.

I think this is quite possibly the most epic and ambitious photo report ever.
  • 17 1
It's enduro because they're riding enduro specific bikes. If you wanted to mountain bike those trails you would need completely different bikes.

^ No, I highly doubt that. You can rip an XC rig pretty hard. And they're called all-mountain bikes to be specific, not enduro bikes. Again, it's just a name for a racing format but tomatoes, tomahtoes.
  • 11 0
@Scott he was being sarcastic. Pointing out that the whole idea of using the word 'enduro' here was pointless. It's just a bike ride, always has been. It's like me giving you a chicken and saying 'it's in the spirit of turkey.' maybe a bad analogy but I've been eating a lot of turkey lately.

Enduro is just so gravity guys can go on XC rides and still feel manly.
  • 8 0
gravity guys already do xc rides. enduro is so people can ride up hills and justify being slow. 'the spirit of enduro' wank wank. no shame in the game, I ride slow up hills and walk too but I don't call it enduro, I call it get this over with so I can ride down.
  • 3 4
^ No, (proper) enduro is for people who want to race on DH trails but don't need an extra 3 inches of travel or a chairlift Wink

Exploring the wilderness of....a trail centre? Could've skipped the whinlatter section and filmed more of the wilderness stuff.

The word 'Enduro' is becoming the new 'YOLO', irritating as f%%%%
  • 5 1
Exactly. Was looking forward to a Lakes wilderness riding vid and got a pretty standard trail centre vid.

Whinlatter is a decent enough trail centre (and would be pretty awesome elsewhere in the country), but it's by far outclassed by the natural riding that surrounds it.

  • 8 0
you cant bang on about this great wilderness adventure and then go and ride whinlatter. that's a standard trail centre with car park, café and shop at the start. fun trail, but not adventurous.

Home. Yaay!! We're on PB, we must be famous now. It's a shame these guys didn't come and seek out some local knowledge and find somewhere worth riding (Whinlatter....good grief!).

can you tell me where they rode, what trails etc? I want to do this trip, looks so so good
  • 3 1
Wow people on this website are fucking ridiculous. They simply cannot just enjoy all the work and time put into this article, they must have their say! Their overly opinionated bullshit that they just regurgitate from another internet smart-arse they saw on another website. Seriously lads this was quality, nico and Harry I'm well impressed! Don't know the other two fellas but top job to you as well.
  • 5 0
Excuse me, but isn't Harry sponsored by a Kona?
Just asking...

Sweet vid. Smile

yea 'arry! I lived in the lakes for a year when I was 10. I'd love to go back and revisit all the memories via bikes
  • 1 0
I LOVE the Lake District.. I recognized almost all of the locations in this article and it brought back so many memories. I go there almost every summer with my family, but to my dismay only to hike, I haven't ridden there yet. But I have really wanted to ride here for so long, so probably next time.. Keswick has some amazing riding!
  • 3 0
You had the whole Lake District to explore...... and you went to a trail centre? Oh dear..... oh dear....

love seeing pictures of the views and trails I thought I'd only ever experience in the west lakes, you can get lost very easily as I've found out... ended up cycling a downhill bike back along a road for five miles...

I don't see where enduro comes into play with this video. Cool video, but this doesn't seem like enduro. Single track/xc at best, and not really that exciting of a video.
