Today marked day 0 of this first edition of the Andes Pacifico presented by Santa Cruz.
Earlier in the day 80 riders were transported to the Ski Resort of La Parva where registration began followed by check-in to the apartments that will provide a final night of warmth against the cold Andean chill. After registration, the Andes Pacifico media crew went for a ride to check the terrain where they found the conditions of the trails to be dusty and rocky.
After dinner, riders had their first briefing where the race director Matias Del Solar introduced the Montenbaik team that will be working on the event. This team will also be producing the first round of the Enduro World Series in April 18-19 2014 in Nevados de Chillan, Chile.
Matias gave an overview of what will be involved in the unique four day event but focused mainly on what day one will involve.
Day one includes:
- 40kms total length of the day
- 4 Special stages
- 23kms of special stages
- 3670 meters of vertical downhill
Everyone here is looking forward to start the Andes Pacifico tomorrow. In case you are just catching up with this event check out our promo video:

One small suggestion though, it would be a good idea to use closed caption (CC) in english for this video, that way you could attract the attention from more riders that can't speak/understand spanish.

If you can, you should come and visit Chile, you won´t regret it!
