Angus Council Community Learning and Development - Bike Tracks
Where are the bike tracks on the East Coast of Scotland? It’s a question many local mountain bikers have been asking. Yes the east coast is well served with a variety of natural trails and some unofficial jump sites. But if its Glentress style all weather biking you're after then there are few places in Scotland further from these types of developed tracks. Angus Council’s community learning & development outdoor education team is taking steps to promote a discussion about the viability of a mountain bike trail development matching one of the 7-Stanes sites. This discussion would lead to a consultation period in April.Monday 16th April

Wednesday 18th April

Thursday 19th April

Monday 23rd April

Tuesday 24th April

If there is sufficient support then the next step would be to form a group to take the project forwards, with the ongoing support of the outdoor education team. As a community project the proposed group would take responsibility for the key tasks involved in developing the trails. These would include location, trail design, and finding funding sources. Throughout this process the outdoor education team is committed to supporting the group’s work toward achieving the goal of an East Coast mountain bike trail development. These trails would be both a resource for locals and an attraction for visitors.
