Mont St Anne, Canada

Races Covered:
UCI World Cup XCO / DHI / 4X 4 - Mont Sainte Anne
UCI World Cup XCO/ DHI 5 - Windham

EP6 of the Atherton Project kicks off at Mont St. Anne in Canada – one of the hardest, longest and oldest tracks on the circuit, and the team could do with some good points to help with the title chase. Then it’s on to Windham in New York on the 4th July for the next round of the World Cup – not before taking in some watersports and yet more fireworks…

Now in its third series, Red Bull’s reality TV series ‘The Atherton Project’ is a fly-on-the-wall show tracking the exploits of the most famous family in mountain bike history. Follow British riders Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton as they compete in events around the world in the 2011 season.

Series 3 of The Atherton Project can be found on Red Bull TV. Check out The Atherton Project website for more information.

SOOO predictable that the Americans on here are moaning about a few jokey comments!! You are the ones who need to lighten up guys! All countrys have banter with each other, America is in no way above being involved in a bit of banter! Far from it!

SOOO predictable that the Brits would try to cover their misconstrued humor as playful banter.

It's not the jokey's just in general, why the need to be so grumpy? Getting to travel the world and ride your bike for a living is an amazing thing. Don't take yourself so seriously.
  • 25 3
I dont think anyone in that vid was being grumpy. Except Gee when his tyre blew off, but who wouldnt be pretty bummed after that? It's his job, he's got a big disire to win. So course he's pissed when a flat tyre throws it all away!!

All the other comments in the video that you are taking the wrong way, are jokes. If you don't "get" them you obviously dont understand Brit sense of humour. Either that or you need to chill the f*ck out.

americans don't think that pickles in bags or slim jims and cheese are worth the risk to eat either.
  • 20 1
 ill eat anything....
  • 25 1
woah woah woah.. dont hate on the jerky and cheese until you try it.
  • 38 5
Funy how they are looking for "something" healty and right after that they are gulping on Redbull
  • 5 2
I love U.S. beef jerkey... even more than the Mexican version.
  • 19 1
Hahaha, if any American is getting insulted by them ragging on gas station food then you've got to lighten up. Anyways, our country does eat like shit but who cares As long as you don't then why is it bothering you?

And it's hilarious how mystified they are with fireworks, haha.
  • 5 0
I love how they make fun of the us haha cause it's all true lol
  • 4 1
robicycle... do you really believe they drink red bull on a regular basis? or maybe (just maybe) they gulp it down on camera because red bull pays them thousands to do so.
  • 4 0
I prefer Beef jerky that actually came from a cow.
  • 16 10
everyones on about brits making the jokes , its not the ' brits' its the ENGLISH !!
  • 2 1
I'm not saying anything I eat is healthy and I could care less what people think of what I eat but I know for a fact that I had a very very good medium rare filet mignon for dinner and the US may eat bad but atleast we have slowed down on the cigs!!
  • 6 3
English are the best man!! i would say we have the best riders in the world but i can already see your responses. "we have Gwi....." haha
  • 2 0
When you think about it, Gee is doing really well this season considering the problems he's has with his tire at the odd race....i think he could have been standing in 2nd now if he hadnt of had the problems
  • 4 0
The Athertons are Brits, but first and most are WELSH!!! not English. I still think they were just joking though food in Gringoland (u.s.) is quite close to shite and our top British athletes need to stay fit - they just couldn´t find a god jolly old fish n` chips rest to eat. On a different note - I hadn´t realised Rach does have stuffy upper part, thought she wa flat as Gee´s blown off tryre. lol.
  • 2 0
no hating, I just find it funny that they went to a gas station looking for healthy food, you would get the same results here.
  • 3 0
@fedet11 they are English mate, just live in North Wales now. from salisbury origionally!
  • 1 1
Oh fair enough then man. Sorry about that, hope Rache didn´t read my comment sayin she and her family were Welsh... lol. Cheers for settin the record straight for me!

I thought the half second clip of Gee staring at the 2 fat people was pretty funny.

 "Stevie do you like lakes?"
"There alright.."

It's funny to me that an international mountain bike website can have so many different conflicts. So what if the Athertons made fun of our gas station food. We Americans know where to go to eat healthy. (not mcdonalds) People arguing about who's country is better is completely missing the point. As far as I know we are all mountain bikers in all corners of the world trying to achieve the same thing. Have a damn good time on the saddle. I think it's awesome that the Athertons came to America. They are exceptional riders and people. As for Gee's punching the chair I feel for him. Pushing a bike across the finish line with a dicked up tire sucks. But what do I know, I didn't go to college.
  • 3 0
Agreed. We are all PEOPLE, regardless of race. Some seem to forget this fact.
  • 6 0
after reading the above comments, can we please stop referring to eachother as "The Brits" and "The Americans"... i personally know a lot of americans that don't understand why other countries hate on America, i think it's because the media within the US vs. the media found throughout other places in the world is drastically different. Even the same stories covered are given totally different spins.
Often the stories in the US media lack certain details that media in other countries include. As an example i once saw a story about a foreign bombing from US media and foreign media. The US media lacked the detail that the targets were a hospital and an elementary school.
You can't judge people within a country by their leader. And it's the leaders making these decisions that give the US such an awful name worldwide.
You'll find that most american citizens these days have less allegiance to their leaders than in previous years...
The key is education...
Rant over...
  • 3 0
the usa does not have one particular leader. the key is education? well educate yourself on israel, zionism, and the global elite that use capitalism and the media to their benefit. The rich are getting richer, poor getting poorer. Oh and one last thing for all you conditioned sheeple: You can relate to everyone in the world if you look past the superficial things that separate you. so lets just bike and enjoy life
  • 1 0
totally agree with you, and i am well educated on what happens behind the scenes throughout the world... but hate the term sheeple
  • 1 0
why, that is exactly what the majority of the people are.
  • 1 0
true, i dislike it only for the reason that i try and educate people on these subjects as much as possible. i find that the most effective way is to not come off like you're talking down to them, and i think that the term sheeple has the connotation of looking down at someone or elevating yourself higher than them... everyone's equal, but not everything has learned the important truths behind everyday reality...
  • 1 0
** last part should say "but not everyone"...
  • 1 0
i used the term conditioned sheeple. i dont think many people on pinkbike watch mtv and guido shore, but for those that do should really look into the meaning of sheeple. w w w dot infowars dot com
  • 2 0
So Buttonpusher and Bensuurallik, Do you see a way that we can give the ignorant incentive to look behind the curtain? At least the term sheeple might shame some into finding out what the corporate media keeps hidden. Sadly many will look at the word, shrug because they don't get it, and go back to surfing in blissful ignorance.
  • 1 0
^^ Agree... Sadly i think that it will have to hit close to home for most people before they choose to open their eyes up...
  • 7 0
 Hahaha typical gas stations
  • 6 0
through no fault of ther own the athertons arnt being the best advertisment for continental at the moment haha
  • 1 0
Bucket of win on that comment, forget everything else that is the best bike comment on this page!!
  • 1 0
That´s absolutely true mate - hadnt thought of that but yeah! you couldnt be more right.
  • 2 0
it is just me, or why is that the every time the episodes seem to finish before they even start?? doesn't feel like 10min at ALL...

and where can I get myself such a RedBull helmet or is it through sponsorship only?
  • 3 0
Red Bull anything is through sponsorships only. If you REALLY wanted Red Bull product, you could always scour the internet for way too overpriced crap that may or may not be an imitation. But that would be dumb to do anyways because if you're wearing Red Bull but aren't sponsored then you'd look like a huge clown. My advice is to get REALLY good at something, pick up a manager/agent/whoever and get sponsored by them.

I don't know about you all, but I laughed my A$$ off. I just thought it was funny. I'm sure a lot of North American's on this site have watched a few episodes of SNL at some pont, so each country has their own banter when it comes to the expectations of each of our countries.

You have to wonder though, maybe in the UK, they really don't sell cheese and a meat stick prepackaged like that, but hell, they might sell a lot of wacked out stuff we don't eat here. It's all the same. I thought their first take on "America" was too funny. Just how I think Rachael said's really how we all feel when we come there. The Southern Western accent, it's just what we're shown you're all about. Killin Indian's and fighting off the British.

But we did burn your White House down along with the Brits in 1812. Fun times back then. See now though, we're all friends again though after almost 200 years. Thanks Will and Kate!! hahahahaha

As for the whole pouty thing that Gee did. Deservedly so, that guy is/was close to the top, and it's probably true, at the moment, his shot at the top of the podium likely was over the second his tire blew out, you think he didn't know what he was racing for?

Anyway. Didn't GWIN win it all?? Or with like one race left he's got it locked?
  • 1 0
I think these flag things next to our names on here are stirring up too much jingoistic nonsense. I suppose its nice to know where someone is from but does it need to be the first thing that people see when reading your comment?
