BAZIL CLAIMS THE COSTARICAN DH TITLE

Escazu's town of Bebedero held yesterday a spectacular day for all of the fans who gather along the trail known as "El Cano", and from there, witnessed how Bazil Cambronero won by second consecutive year the costarican downhill cup, called COPA TICA, this is still having one more race to go, since mathematically speaking, is impossible that any other rider can get the great point gap Bazil have accomplish.


1,2,3,4… Those were the stages that Bazil had being proclaim as the fast man down Costa Rican mountains, this with no doub, comes at an excellent moment, since it gives Cambronero some more incentive and support to represent Costa Rica at the Pan-American Games of MTB 2012.

With well over 800 people agglomerate throughout the 2km of non stop arm-punishing trail, the dust was putting lots of more troubles to the riders, as the rocks underneath were not noticeable due to it, nevertheless, the competitors showed why the sport have come taking giant steps in the country, the courage demonstrated how the physical conditions and mental abilities they have to be able to take the body and bicycle to its limits.

While, in the Youth category, Jose Villalobos left aside the storm of sanctions and had the best run of the day, followed by Federico Ulloa and Conrad Haehner, these last two are in a open fight for the 2nd place, since its difference is of mere 25 points. In pre-experts, Christopher Sandi arise from the shadows and took the first place, followed by Sergio Orozco and Kenneth Gonzalez, as for Sergio Orozco, he is the virtual champion of this category.


Octavio Varela continues to reign his category and is also the virtual champion of the Begginers category, followed by Alexander Ramirez and Francisco Rojas, and in the Rigid Category, the phenomenon Jose Vasquez once again shock everybody with an impressive time (12th overal position) and claimed again the first place followed by Ronny Porras and Johny Flowers, although the first place is still open to the first two. Marcela Canet continues to be the the only woman racing at the moment, which makes her deserve the title of the first female champion of the costarican cup COPA TICA
