by Jacob Gibbins
The BDS (British downhill series) has been a totally new take on national level racing in the UK for 2010...

Si Paton and David Franciosy have taken on the BDS series for a few years now, so racing in the UK is set to become one of the top series in the world, with ALL events next year either being UCI cat 1 or 2 events. Put this with the talent of the riders in the UK, the great pit atmosphere, good tracks and by some miracle all of the rounds this year being nice and sunny!

View on,A few of my Fav shots to give you a taste of what the BDS series in 2010 was all about... Enjoy!

Round 1 was at Rheola in south Wales, a big track at about 4 mins long

First picture of Gee in the woods: can someone explain what does it do (or actualy what does it make bike to do) this constant switching of knees side to side in rockgardens? Pros do it all the time in RGs, especially Gee.

it is part of the phrase "Rad as Ken" originally coined by the ride-on crew, particularly Danimal & Tomo. However people have now begun to use it out of context, disrespecting the original phrase.
I don't even know why they started it though.

apparently in Scotland it is a shortened way of saying "know". thats what the urban dictionary said?
  • 4 1
Ken = know as in "aye, ken what I'm on about"
  • 1 0
Yes, that is the Scottish way of saying it. Ken is also a way of measuring the Radness of something.
  • 8 1
ken is very much a measure of radness, it has nothing to do with some kilt wearing gingers ken is a dorky driving instructor from sheffield, I heard it around wharncliffe a looong time before I started to hear it at races haha
