The BDS (British downhill series) has been a totally new take on national level racing in the UK for 2010...
Si Paton and David Franciosy have taken on the BDS series for a few years now, so racing in the UK is set to become one of the top series in the world, with ALL
events next year either being UCI cat 1 or 2 events. Put this with the talent of the riders in the UK, the great pit atmosphere, good tracks and by some miracle all of the rounds this year being nice and sunny!View on
,A few of my Fav shots to give you a taste of what the BDS series in 2010 was all about... Enjoy!
Round 1 was at Rheola in south Wales, a big track at about 4 mins long
Here Gee Atherton (round winner) sends it off one of the many features on the track
The BDS races have been a media frenzy this year.
When you don't have ski lifts, coaches have to do
After Wales the circus moved up to Ft Bill for Rd 2
When you're not in the top 5 at WCs it's not all hotels and jets, it's 3 men in the back of a van all getting just that bit too cosy!
Gee again, pinned but a flat in the race run put him down in the ranks
Kovarik and the whole CRC team came to RD 2 and he ended up taking top spot
UK pinner Rich Thomas on his way to a 6th on the day
Dan Atherton riding DH, and doing it damn well, he was leading the series for the first few rounds
Round 3 was clash of the titans, Gee vs Bren
Gee took qualis by a second, putting the pressure on Bren
Come finals though Bren showed steep was his thing and took the win
Being so close to a town, and with good weather, the crowds were out for finals at Rd 3
O and the girls, more girls at Rd 3 than at all the other rounds put together
Another rider who loves the steep stuff is Adam Brayton, but breaking his finger in Qualis made a 7th in finals one hell of a finish!
Elite men, could almost be at a WC with a line up like that
From Rd 3 to Rd 4, still in Wales and not too far away either
The only race of the year that had any real kind of rain, and even that was short lived
Expert cat pinner Emyr Davis!
Big comedy signs, do they ever get old? NAH!
Junior pinner and WC storm Mark"angry bird" scott
Miami Bryce, 3rd place at rd 4 wasn't too bad when the guys above you are Marc and Peaty
I sat at this spot for an hour waiting for someone to make this look good, it took relative unknown Kurt Brain to make the photo I had in my head, GET ON!
T Mo stormed the girls to take the win
Peaty with his eyes firmly on the prize
The winner of Rd 4 in the rainbows, says it all really
Here's to a storming 2011 as far as racing push bikes down hills in the UK in concerned!
