Lets be clear here. We all want more women in the sport. I'm in the car, headed out on a week long bike trip with my wife and daughter now. My point is that there is a time and place to affect change, and bringing down a mild manored race report isn't it.

You have to make a point of saying you have ladies in your life because to this point your comments clearly lack empathy. It's too bad for you an otherwise puff piece on a race was sidetracked by 'world real struggles.' When I ride it helps to clear my mind and think things out. Maybe on your rides this week you can talk to your family on how their effort equates to 42% of yours. That's the pay difference we are talking about here. First place womens received 42% of the mens. Don't even get into participation levels being less for the ladies. That's all 'who shot john' nonsense. Again, if award money was equal or even better than 50% you would see more ladies participate. What they paid the women is a slap in the face, end of it.

i'd be willing to bet there were twice the amount of male competitors, bringing twice the amount of money to the race.
