Bearclaw Invitational RAINED OUT. The caps made this seem really stressful I bet, hey?
It's not cancelled, the towel just got thrown in early on day two during the pro seeding and resulted in a giant train down the course, which in all honesty was one of the coolest things to happen all day.
Regardless of that shattering news (I'm sure things are still horrible in Egypt, but Island Life has taken its toll) there was a solid amateur comp that went on (Went Off -Jordie Lunn). It was in fact so "Off" that The Claw Himself invited the top six placements to ride in the pro contest tomorrow.
In no particular order, here is who made it in:
Maximillian (From Eurpoe)
Eric Lawrenuk
Wink Grant
Liam Wallace
Carsen Storch
Logan Peat
Those six am's took some some rad prizes, along with a chance to compete with the pros tomorrow... Which viably can lead to much larger prizes as well.
Other things to note:
There are wild blueberries on course, so basically sweet Mother Nature has catered the event... If you're into having a blue mouth.
The riders are super pumped on the course reconstruction, and the best possible quote from Andreu was something in regards to riding mountain bikes on actual dirt, and not gravel or sand.
Not too many people are thrilled with the big jump on the left side on the course, most likely because the right side has two smaller jumps so it's basically a 2 for 1 deal. The big jump will be used for the whip-off, and is still very rad.
Since there aren't many other major happens to talk about (Unless we describe everything that happened to talk your ears off) here's a dump of more images.
-- And Jordie Lunn said so.
Eric Lawrenuk

And can we get some more coverage of the train?
