How is it that A.C.C stays away from competetive downhill now, in favour of dominating the B.M.X scene and taking part in some endurance events, and wipes the floor with world champions time and again.I mean Emmaline Ragot, although a fellow countryman, must hate her fcuking guts and i never use the word hate lightly, but a teenage world champ getting trounced by a woman old enough to be her mother must be a bitter pill to swallow, and it must be even more bitter knowing that A.C.C could do this type of thing whenever she want's,come on now lets not beat about the bush, theres friendly rivalry and then theres just sheer taking the piss,i mean imagine when the decorators in in the womens side of things, situations must get real tense when sh*t like this happens,18+ seconds she won by.Why in the world did this woman retire from the worlds and world cups. Now i'm not even a fan of A.C.C but this needed saying.

Chausson is the best ever female DH racer, she can't help it, it's just the way it is! It's up to everybody else to beat her so you can't really knock Chausson for simply going that bit faster. Nico Vouilloz held a similar mystique back in the day but later in his career he stopped winning quite as much, this wasn't because he got any slower but everyone else learned from him (particularly his approach to DH racing as a professional sport) and caught up.
It's hard to say whether women's racing would have done the same if Chausson had stayed on the world cup scene but from what I remember, they were still a long way off. So I get your point about the frustration that some racers must feel but if they're taking a head full or resentment onto the the track, then they are only going to be wasting their time. Personally, I have massive respect and admiration for Chausson.

Don't get me wrong Gary m8,i've got untold respect for A.C.C,i just can't understand why she's retired from a sport she can clearly still dominate.By the way Gary does she ride for Sunn or Commencal now m8.

It's lonely at the top! She'd achieved everything she wanted to achieve except Olympic gold so she trained for that instead of following the World Cup circus, and maybe got used to travelling a bit less? It can get boring when there is no real competition, I know all about that, I'm undefeated in my local pub at dominoes! Haha!

Anyway, Anne-Caro is currently riding for Sunn. The two old superpowers back together!

Kovarik destroyed the competition. It is amazing the gap to see such gap between first, second, and third. Did a lot of rider crash on that day?
  • 1 1
no, Kovarik just MURDERED the course and the comp. nobody expected times hit under 1330 but the Man from down under killed it at 1322.

brosnan is like in granny gear they all are in a low gear they must not be goin that fast
  • 2 1
Spec team riders are running a custom six speed - given that 90% of the course doesn't require a pedal stroke except to speed up from fast to stupid fast and his ridiculously fast finish time you can pretty much assume that he is going f*&^ing fast here.
  • 1 1
It's a much more pedally course than you'd imagine, there's at least a minutes worth of flat straight pedalling overall. That shot is also about 3 corners in on a pretty flat section so you don't want to be in too high a gear there as it's hard to carry speed out of the corner before.
  • 1 1
pedalling?? owh! then GT & Lappiere floating BB mean something on that!
  • 1 0
A bit of a slow reply - I don't have to imagine how pedally it is as I get to see it or ride it fairly frequently (I am in the park six days per week). These guys are going faster on these courses than most DH riders can imagine and hence can use and have a totally different gear set than the average (or even above average) rider. I understand your point but they are not going to use any piece of equipment that means giving up the chance to win.
