CRC/Nukeproof Tech Video and Fort Bill Helmet Cam

by Cut Media
Team Chain Reaction Cycles/Nukeproof rocked up to Fort William this week keen to get involved at one of their favourite tracks of the year. Being that most of the team (except for Matti) are British, this is pretty much the team's home race and so it's a little extra special for everyone involved.

Track Walk day

Team mechanic Carl Geeson is going to be mega busy this weekend at this brutal track; infamous for destroying bikes and parts, but he took time out of his busy schedule yesterday to take you through how to replace your bottom bracket... Check out the video here:

go smith i hoep he takes it from hart
  • 12 9
Takes what from Hart, it's not Harts to loose. That being said looking for Hart to put in a good run, but still hoping that Gwin continues his dominance.
  • 5 1
lol still smith deserves a win its time for hime to take a step to the top of the podium
  • 1 1
He means takes the win doh!

 That motorway section.......... OOOARRGHHHHH!!!
  • 14 0
My forearms and hands are sore from watching that - a man's track!
  • 3 0
Yeah I know. I was about to post the same thing man.Made arms pumped just watching it. Time to get on my demo now!
  • 2 0
man, that whole upper section is nothing but rocks.
  • 8 1
Best WC track I say, such a variety, big rock gardens, wooded section like Val Di Sol, motorway section like Pietermaritzburg and just generally full of death! Can't wait!
  • 8 0
same but i dont think the coverage is that great, they just show every rider doing the same odd corner i would love to see a few full runs
  • 5 0
yeh they did that at Pietermaritzburg, they missed out those two huge table tops just before the long pedal section, apparently CG did some massive Nac-Whip on one, can't find a video anywhere!

flag cholla (Jun 8, 2012 at 13:40) (Below Threshold)
well, I'm so disagree with u, after Pietermaritzburg this one is next boring in the circuit... kill me now!
  • 7 0
are you stupid? this track is silly gnarly, and unlike the rest, the cameras can get decent footage of a lot of it because it's so open.
  • 6 0
This is easily my favorite WC track, stoked for Sunday.

Cholla: Kill you now? How can you not be stoked to watch the next wc, regardless of the track man!

Can't get full runs because its LIVE with 3 min intervals between top riders and even less for the start of the field. There's usually 3 or 4 riders on track at any given point, maybe more on a track this length until you break into the top few. Unless it was split-screen you couldn't have live full runs. PMB was poor coverage due to security issues but I thought VDS was AWESOME. Camera cranes, High def streaming and smoother coverage than ever before. I've no doubt the stops are getting pulled out for the official best venue in the series either. If the M82 section isn't covered I will eat my hat.
  • 2 0
ye i understand it is hard but a split screen would be great or prehaps two streams (one normal coverage and one of a few halmet cams?) and ye so excited
  • 1 0
@Jacko6793 - I agree with you, helmet cams, a bit like in F1 with the cockpit view would look sick BUT UCI don't allow riders to wear helmet cams on their timed race run, and you can't fit a massive radio transmitter on a riders head, but a good idea for the future! Big Grin

If you haven't seen or ridden this new or old track.... ohh hell, after riding it just 4/5 times in one day kiss your forearms goodbye, and any regards for your own life, also... don't do what my mate did and ride it on a hardtail, you will die more than once... thats it really, awesome track though Smile

Heading up tomorrow, should be sick!!!
  • 2 0
That track looks sooo intense. Guys are gonna have to be very fit to still clear all the jumps and carry speed on that botton section
  • 2 0
Gonna miss the Saturday have to work : ( will be there on Sunday for the finals tho can't wait
  • 1 0
Soo gutted I couldn't make it up this year Frown New track looks sick to ride!
  • 1 0
just watched the coverage, its easy to see why they where so knackered at the end, and those jumps are massive!!
  • 2 0
want to see gee win but i dont think its goin to happen :/
  • 2 0
track is relentless! would love to see it in person.
  • 1 0
probably an old topic but is that marz's answer to Kash coating? What's the deal.
  • 1 0
I would put my money on minnaar
  • 1 1
Feedback Pro Elite stands... Are they worth the money?

I guess if pro-teams use them they should be pretty good?
  • 1 0
They're stable but have a fiddly clamp. Worth the money? I don't think so. Buy the one from your local thansen.
  • 1 0
Already got one of those and I'm not impressed. The build quality is quite good if you take the price into consideration, but the clamp.. Meh. The spring loaded locking mechanism actually broke last weekend and I haven't even used the rotation feature that many times.
  • 1 0
Hard to argue against a broken unit . I've tried them all though. Topeak, Parktool, Minoura, Feedback ect. and for the price I really can't fault it. Mine (X-Tool labeled) has treated me well for the past three years.
  • 1 0
Yea, and it happened at the worst possible time too. My fork needed service badly, and Hahnenklee camping site doesn't offer a lot of alternatives to a defective bike stand!

Fixing the locking mechanism on my current stand (it should be fairly easy to even improve on the original design) is probably my best bet though, if the name brand stands aren't any better.

Thanks for the advice!
  • 1 0
Hahnenklee is like a third world country. Good luck with the repair Smile
  • 1 0
Darn, that's Gnarlyyy!!!! Technical as hell!!!
  • 1 0
Who ever made this track definetly has a fascination with wood sections.
  • 1 1
no man it will be peat or gee who takes the win Wink
  • 3 0
^^That'd be sick if Peaty or Gee one, but I highly doubt it. Hart's got something going on, I'm just hoping he pulls another Champery out of the hat and destroys this one, just for a change. It's annoying seeing Gwin win, he doesn't seem like a nice chap, he's just one of those people who you look at and think 'I wouldn't like to talk to him', I don't know why! haha!
  • 2 2
I dont think Hart has the lungs or the legs for this course. I see Gwin, Gee, Minnaar and Smith as the top 4.
  • 3 0
If Hart hasn't got the lungs or legs for this course explain last year where he could've won if he didn't slip up in the rock gardens
  • 2 0
erm.. why do you think theyve changed the motorway??? there was too much pedaling and the tech rider such as danny couldn't pull enough on the rocks to stop the likes of minnaar on the pedals... we can all say but if hart didnt get wobbly he would have won but chances are if gwin didnt crash he would of won.... you can say what if forever......

i would like to see peaty get on the podium again though Big Grin
  • 1 0
 Go Peaty!!
  • 1 0
That was last year. Hart just won't be able to keep up with the uber fit riders on this track. I thought he would have done better than he did last week on such a technical track.
  • 1 0
alazamanza, Danny could've done some fitness work over the off season to get better at pedaling. Because unless you watched him everyday of the off season you don't know how he trained he could've been riding XC and road.
  • 1 0
he can train all he wants he still hasnt got the build of minnaar you cant grow bones all that easily hahaha
  • 2 0
Hart just quali'd in 3rd. Ahead of Minaar and Gwin. What were you saying there beerguzzlinfool?.
  • 1 0
If he beat those two obvisously he isn't that much smaller then Minaar who isn't the biggest of riders on the circuit
  • 3 3
gwin will make us proud again!
  • 7 9
ten bucks says gwin takes it for the states again. Murricah
  • 4 2
You could be right there , another win for team Emericah
  • 7 2
Emericuuh dont have a team, theres only one good person
  • 5 1
He's like rambo then , 1 man army Smile
  • 3 2
 Elliot Jackson hauls...
  • 3 1
richie rude will go top 20 i reckon, and he's emericuun
  • 3 1
Neko Mulally is emericuun and although he is injured at the moment, he grabbed a couple of podiums recently... One at Sea Otter and one at the Port Angles Pro GRT race with a stacked field. Don't forget he had the fastest time of the day for national champs too in 2011. I can't wait to see what he has in the bag for MSA, the track he got a Silver Medal on at worlds just 0.06 behind Brosnan... So yeah, "Emericuuh" does have a team.
