Im going to start this off by saying that so far this year almost all slopestyle courses have been a let down, they have been poorly built and poorly planned out. When I came to Darren Berreclothe's contest I had high expectations of a top quality rider delivering a top quality course. Darren and his hard working crew have delivered! The course is Big, Smooth and Technical.
Updated pictures from Mike ReidThe course is also unique in the fact that it splits at the top into two lines side by side all the way to the bottom, this features the same stunts opposite of each other so that riders can ride to their strong side. The course features a big wallride at the bottom with lots of options and gaps, as well as two bonair logs that lead into the 4 pack. At the top there is a step down, into a split where two sets of
S berms go to the left and to the right leading into dual hitching posts, then onto a large pyramid shaped hip. After this is a set of wallrides, and then a step up, step down.
Practice was today and ran into the early evening. It was relatively slow as most of the riders got a feel for the course. There are a lot of big name riders here, and lots of young unknowns who impressed the Claw enough at Crankworx to warrant an invite to his contest. The contest runs all day tommorow (saturday) and gets kicked off with a high jump contest. "
