Crankworx Whistler: RockShox Ultimate Pump Track Challenge

As it was an open event, a lot of riders got the chance to battle against top flight professionals, and it was clear they had different ways of coping with the pressure. Stripping down to your boxers is always a good way to mess with your opponents head.

Andrew 'Needles' Neethling got knocked out by Cody Johnson, who later went on to finish 3rd beating a very tired Martin Söderström. Söderström didn't race the second leg of the small final, so Cody got to cruise a victory lap for the fans.

The inside line was faster all night, with riders dropping in on the start gate and whipping round the first corner to gain a sizeable lead. Riders had to make sure they stretched their lead enough to not be caught on the last straight, here Mitch Ropelato demonstrates this technique perfectly.

Specialized P.Slope vs P.2 - the hardtail came out on top

There was no start gate so dropping in took full commitment, with riders quite literally launching themselves over the edge.
